It's been almost a month since Rick took me in. I've learned a lot of things and met a lot of people. This group is amazing. We have a hunter/tracker named Daryl. He seems a little rough around the edges but who isn't these days? His brother Merle is a real piece. Don't even get me started on him. There's Hershel, who is a doctor and the sweetest person I have ever met in my life. He's very welcoming. Maggie and Beth are his daughters, and to be honest, I think Beth and I can be good friends. We're the same age and just alike. Maggie is a little bit older and married to Glenn. They have a baby boy called Zachary. He's so cute! There's Dale, who has the best advice anyone has ever given. He used to sit on top of an RV and be on watch all the time before they found the development. There's Michonne, who is a badass bitch who doesn't take anyone's crap. She has a katana. Enough said. There's Shane who was a cop, just like Rick. He's another one who is rough around the edges. He seems nice and caring but he can be scary at times. I heard he punched Carol's husband Ed in the face repeatedly because Ed hit Carol. Ed is now dead due to a walker bite and Carol is free of his controlling ways. Good for her, she's super nice. Sophia is Carol's daughter. Then there's Andrea, who is clearly screwing Shane and she couldn't be more obvious about it. There's more people but I haven't had the time to meet them yet. I've been helping Rick a lot and pulling my weight. We have gotten really close.

I learned that we all have separate homes since the development was so big and cleared out. Every house had 2 people or more in it. Nobody was allowed to have their own house for safety reasons. The homes are paired as Maggie and Glenn with baby Zachary, Hershel and Beth, Carol and Sophia, Daryl and Merle, Andrea and Shane, Dale and Michonne, and then there's me and Rick. There's two cars in every driveway with a full tank of gas and they're filled with food, drinks, and supplies. Just in case anything ever happens. The cars are used only for emergencies. It's a good plan in case we ever get attacked. As night began to fall everyone went into their homes. I went in with Rick and he locked the door behind us and went in the kitchen as I went up the stairs. I was so tired I collapsed on my bed and fell into a deep sleep.

"Sara" I heard a familiar voice. "Saaaaarrrraaaaa. Open your eyes babe." I opened my eyes to see someone I loved with every being inside me. "Mom" I said with a warm smile as I closed my eyes again. "Sara honey, you have to get out of here. There are people killing each other outside. I want you to take the car and get far away from here. AAHHHH!" I shot my eyes back open to see my mother dead on the floor with a huge bite out of her neck. "NO MOM NO!" I shouted. I buried my face in my hands and started to cry. When I looked up again my mothers dead body had risen and grabbed my arm and took a huge bit-

I screamed and shot up in my bed and looked around. It was really dark. I couldn't even see my hand in front of my face. I turned on my lantern and checked my arm for a bite that wasn't there. It was just a dream. No, a nightmare. It didn't take me long to figure out what had actually woken me up because I saw a flash of lightning and a huge crack of thunder rolled. Suddenly I heard footsteps running down the hall in a panic. The person stopped in my doorway. "Are you alright??? I heard you scream from the other room! What happened?" He looked at me with concern. "I had a dream about my mom that actually turned into a nightmare." Rick took a sigh of relief and ran his hand through his hair. "I'm sorr-" "Rick will you sleep with me?" I cut him off and he looked at me. "Not like that. I mean just be here with me. I need you..." I said looking down, twiddling my thumbs expecting him to say no. Another huge crack of thunder rolled and I jumped a little. Rick smiled and walked into my room. He stood there looking at me. Almost as if he was admiring me or something. 'I wish' I thought to myself.

I scooted over and he got into my bed, putting his arm out, allowing me to get close to him. "I probably should've asked this before but..are you married?" I questioned him as I lay my head on his shoulder and put my body close to his, closing the gap between us. As I was getting comfortable I put my arm over his stomach and then pulled it back off, realizing I was getting too comfortable. "Sorry" I mumbled. Rick chuckled as he pulled my arm back up over his stomach and close to his chest. He let out a sigh and started playing with my fingers. "I was married. If that answers your question." I looked at him puzzled. "Was? As in, past tense?" Rick nodded. "She ran off on me one day. No note. No explanation. Nothing. She just left." He stopped playing with my fingers and looked at me. His eyes were so captivating. Before I knew it I was drowning in them. "What about you? Are you married?" He asked while he started playing with my ring finger that had no ring on it. "No" I said plainly while I watched him play with my finger. "I was never married. Or engaged. I had a boyfriend before all this but he cheated on me so I left him. After 4 years together, he cheated." I said pulling myself from that annoying memory. "I'm sorry that happened to you" Rick said taking my hand up to his lips and kissing it. 'Is this really happening right now?' I thought. Is he doing this because he feels sorry for me? Or because he likes me? "Yeah well. My story's not as bad as yours. What kind of woman would leave a man like you?" I knew as soon as the words left my mouth, he would want an explanation. Rick looked at me, a smile creeping on his face.

"What exactly do you mean by 'a man like you'?"
