The dreaded day was getting closer and the dreams were getting worse.
I knew I couldn't take it much longer
What if I snapped?
Usually I was alone, trapped in my own sea of thoughts, but this time I'm not.
I knew these memories had come to torment me and that there was nothing I could do to get her back.
Even now, I still can't believe that it happened.
I still can't comprehend how evil that man is.

" Gukkie " my mother called softly as she sat in the living room and beckoned me up from the rug to come and fill the vacant space next to her on the sofa
I put down the assortment of action figures that had been competing in a fake battle and waddle my way to the sofa.
I clamber up and sit there as my mother looks at me with wide hopeful eyes
" I got you something angel " she said as she stroked my forehead, removing the loose strand of hair.
" ooh ooh what is it ? " I say enthusiastically, perking up at the mention of a surprise. It wasn't even my birthday however I was still spoilt.
She giggles at my hyperactive state and reached her hand behind her back
" calm down angel it's not going anywhere "
She pulls out a neatly wrapped box and pushes it in my direction.
I instantly pounce, removing all shreds of the perfectly taped paper.
Once the outer layer is removed I am met with a little projector that says 'a starry night from the comfort of your room'
I look up at my mother to se her smiling face " you you like it? " she questioned with a soothing voice
" yes yes yes this is amazing "
I jump up at her and engulf her into a large hug with my small arms
" thank you so much "
I pull away and she kisses my forehead
" you know I love you right? " she says
" of course! But I love you the mostest " I give her a quick peck back and dart for my bedroom
" cmon we should set it up "
" sure thing my love "
She gets up, picking up all the shreds of paper that had been flung around by my carelessness and heads for my direction with a loving smile plastered over her face.
She really was the greatest woman
That was until he ruined her
