Chapter 30

Layla's POV
    I turned around and saw Wanda. "You won't be able to get inside my head. Sorry." I said with a shrug. She put her hands down, clearly believing me. I looked away to examine my surroundings. Suddenly, someone had me pinned to them with their arm around my neck. I grasped their forearm.
     "Let go." I choke out. I can feel the person chuckle. His whole body vibrates. I close my eyes and feel him let go. I turn around and see him floating in the air. "Layla. Layla Hartfel." I wave to him.
     "Pietro Maximoff." He grunts in a heavy Russian accent. Wanda has her hand clasped over her mouth as she stares at Pietro.
"What did you do to him?" She screeches as I make him burn from the inside. His face contorts into pain as he grips at his sides.
"Do you want me to stop burning him?" I smirk as I watch him groan and sweat. I slowly look back at her. Her eyes were filled with so much horror. All she did was nod. I stopped the burning and dropped him. I walked toward the edge of the building.
"I'm leaving now. Great to meet you." I turned to them then jump off the edge. I teleported myself just before I hit the ground. Looking around I saw that I was in front of the White House. Yay. I walked inside and walked into the president's sleeping quarters. Due to the fact that it was the middle of the night. I grabbed him then teleported to HYDRA.
I pushed him over to Sergeant Rogers. "Sorry for the delay. Got a little sidetracked." She looked at me and looked back down at her papers.
"Bring him over to Colonial Gorges." She waved me off. I grabbed the president then walked out of her office. She's the pure definition of sunshine. I groaned as I walked through the halls to Colonial Gorges's office. I knocked on his door then shoved the president inside.
     I turned to walk back to my room when I ran into someone. I looked up and saw......... "Liam?!" I said out loud. His eyebrow raised as he looked down at me.
"Layla." He said bluntly with venom lining his voice. I looked down as I realized he really didn't want to see me.
"Excuse me." I said softly as I tried to push around him. I got around him only for him to grab my wrist. I was startled when his lips were planted onto mine. I stood there stunned for a little bit until I melted into the kiss. He let go suddenly.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that. That wasn't planned." He said trying to convince himself more than me.
"No, it's okay. We all make mistakes." I replied sadly as my heart dropped. I looked down at my feet to avoid him seeing me blush and walked away.
     "I don't want you anywhere near that Adam guy." He shouted after me. He doesn't even know. I chuckled a hurt laugh. A tear threatened to escape. I didn't let it fall. I looked back at him.
     "Think before you speak." I angrily yelled. He looked puzzled as I turned around and walked away.

Bucky's POV
I hope she got home okay. I thought to myself as I sprinted to the Bifröst. "Heimdall," I said panting, "open.....*pant*...the......Bifröst." He just smiled and opened it. I saw a series of colors flying past me. I landed on the Avenger Tower and saw Wanda trying to comfort Pietro, who was pushing her away and saying he was fine.
"Hey, Maximoffs." I said breathlessly. Wanda looked up at me and smiled a halfhearted smile. Pietro looked at me and groaned. "Which direction did the girl go?" Pietro rolled his eyes.
"She jumped off the side of the tower." Wanda said. I looked over the edge to see no one. I clenched and unclenched my metal hand. "Is she dead?" She asked quietly.
"She's not even there." I replied coldly. I turned around and looked at the twins. They stared back at me in disbelief.
"But we saw her jump off?" Pietro stated confused. Evidently not.
     "I need to find her. Pietro, help me look for her!" I shouted the command at the bewildered male. I saw him shudder out of the corner of my eye. "Let's go!"
