MARRY ME: 'My Memory III'

‘Gabrielle,’ someone called Gab while she was inside the school stables.

Gabrielle turned to the person calling her. She merely gave the latter a questioning look. She did not feel like engaging in any conversation with anyone. Well, maybe except Isabelle. A smile suddenly found its way to her lips as she was thinking of the girl she loved the most.

‘Is it true that you’re dating my twin?’ Victoria asked. Her voice shaking a bit and; her eyes watery and red; probably from crying before coming in here.

Gabrielle was a bit startled. Damn! She almost forget that Isabelle's twin was in front of her and, here she was drifted off by her reverie

'Yes,’ She answered after a moment of being disoriented. She then turned her attention back to the horse that she was tending to, and secretly wished that Victoria would leave without her telling the latter.

A shocked gasp could be heard from Elizabeth but Gabrielle just ignored it. ‘Why you did not tell me?’

‘Is it necessary?’ Gabrielle countered disinterestingly. Her attention still on the horse.

Victoria walked beside Gabrielle and with great sadness and fraught with emotion, she confessed, ‘I love you.’

Gabrielle looked at Victoria with furrowed brows. She did not expect to hear this from Isabelle’s twin.

‘I love you,’ Victoria repeated; wanting to make sure that Gabrielle heard her clearly. Her shoulders were shaking from too much emotion and tears fell from her eyes. But she wanted very badly to say what her heart had been holding back for years.

‘Why are you confessing to me when you know that your sister and I have a relationship?’

Victoria gazed into Gabrielle’s emotionless Moonstone eyes -- the expression was an exact opposite of what she was feeling now. ‘I have been in love with you since the first time I saw you even before you have known my sister.’

Gabrielle paused for a moment seemingly trying to figure out what to say. She sighed and shrugged her soldiers dismissively before saying, ‘Well, I don’t feel anything for you, Victoria.’

Those insenstive words cut right through Victoria's vulnerable heart; it felt as if Gabrielle just stabbed her with a knife in the chest.

'Even before.' Gabrielle emphasized the last word.

That was it.

The words even shattered Victoria’s already broken heart. ‘I don’t understand you-- my sister and I looked exactly the same; and I have been doing my best to make you notice my feelings for you but still you never felt the same way. Why, Gabrielle?’

Victoria words irked Gabrielle, causing her to growl lowly. ‘I don’t need to explain anything to you nor you have the right to demand answers from me. I just love your sister and that’s it. If you are just here to waste my time, then leave me alone.’

Victoria bowed her head down and said softly, ‘Your love won’t last and, someday, you will fall in love with me.’

‘What do you mean by that?’ Gabrielle demanded. Her temper almost get the hell out of her; fist tightened and shaking a bit.

Victoria did not answer but instead she grabbed Gabrielle’s face and kissed the latter instead. The action caught Gabrielle off guard that she was petrified for a few moments but when she managed to regain her senses, she pushed Victoria away but only enough to put some distance between them.

‘You will not dare to kiss me again!’ Gabrielle snapped angrily, eyes dilating with ire. It rattled Victoria as she never saw Gabrielle this angry. ‘Get out of my sight, Victoria, or else I might forget that you are my girlfriend’s sister. Don’t make me do something that both of us will regret for the rest of our lives.’
