Yenon was running a little late for classes this morning. She had accidentally slept a few minutes past her alarm. She yelled goodbye to her parents, as she practically flew out of the flower shop. She runs down the street and around the corner. She held her bag against her chest. It was times like these, that she was grateful her parents chose a shop not far from school. Yenon could see students still arriving. That was good. But, she still liked to be in class early. So, she kept running. She ran through the gates and across the courtyard. She breathes heavily.
"Excuse me!" She says quickly. There were 5 boys walking in front of her. They stopped, when hearing her voice. She ran past them, her hair flying behind her. "Isn't that Yenon?" Jisung asks, looking at his gang members and friends. "It was. I've never seen her run so fast before. I guess she slept late." Hyunjin says, as he pulls out a text book. His friends look at him. "But, she's not late. Classes haven't even started yet." Seungmin wonders, a bit confused. "I know. She just likes to be the first one to class. I sit in front of her." Hyunjin shrugs and adjusts his bag. "I can't believe I didn't notice she attended the same school before. Now, she'll be even more annoying." Jeongin huffs and crosses his arms. Hyunjin laughs at his friend's pout. "I doubt it. She's different in school. She's quiet, focused and always studying. She's the same outside of school, too. But, she's just a bit more talkative." He says, surprising Jeongin with this information. "Her? Quiet in school? Not even!" He says, as the five of them continue walking into the school.
Hyunjin shrugs and smiles at his members as he stops at one of the vending machines inside. "What are you doing?" Jisung wonders, as he watches the other put in some money, and selects two banana milks. "Mm. Getting some drinks for me and Yenon." He says and bends down, taking out the two bottles. He turns and finds the other four staring at him. "What?" He asks. "Why are you acting like you know her?" Felix crosses his arms. "Because she's my classmate. Of course I know her." Hyunjin says, as if it was obvious. "Uh huh. Right. You know her more than that. You should totally spill us the beans." Seungmin says, nudging Hyunjin in the side as the five of them walk down the hall. "There's nothing to spill, Seungmin." Hyunjin pushes his friend away from him. Seungmin giggles softly and throws his arm around his shoulders. Jisung does the same. "Why didn't you tell us that you were friends with a girl!" Jisung says loudly. "How cute! Do you like her, too?" Seungmin squishes his friend's cheeks. Hyunjin tsks and shoves them both away from him. "I can be friends with a girl and not have a crush on her! You two are so pathetic." He sighs and rolls his eyes. Felix and Jeongin just look at each other. They weren't fond of Yenon. Felix, because he had to watch her yesterday and she was a pain. Jeongin, because he found her annoying and a bug. "I'll see you guys after school. I need to get to class." Hyunjin says. They all wave and go their separate ways to their classes.
Yenon opens the classroom door, breathing heavily. "Ah.. made it." She pants. She walks in and goes to her seat. She flops into her chair, letting out an exhausted groan. She drops her head on her desk. She sits there, catching her breath. She hears the classroom door slide open and footsteps. The chair in front of her desk slides out. "Here." A familiar voice fills her ears. Yenon lifts her head, seeing Hyunjin sitting at his desk in front of hers. She looks and sees he had placed banana milk in front of her. She sits up and smiles. "Thank you, Hyunjin." She says and picks it up. She pushes the straw through the film. She takes a drink and watches as her classmate puts his bag on his desk.
Hyunjin turns to face her in his seat, putting a work book on her desk. "You left that at my house the other night when you, Sojin and Yeri came over to study." He says. Yenon sighs and slides her forgotten work book to the side. "Thank you. I can't believe I forgot it again. I'm glad I can trust you to bring it back for me." She tells him and finishes her drink Hyunjin had bought for her. She turns and throws it in the trash can behind her. She lays her head back on her desk, sighing. Hyunjin tilts his head and lays his head on her desk as well, to look at her. She looks at him as he does. "What are you stressing about? Hm?" He asks, booping her nose with his finger.
Yenon pushes his hand away, huffing. "The final from last week. It's being returned today. What if I didn't pass?" She frowns and sighs. "Aw, nah. You passed. You always do. Don't worry about it. You'll just get yourself sick. Like last time." Hyunjin says and smiles at her. Yenon looks back at him. He was a very handsome kid. She sighs and sits up, leaning back against her chair. "I hope I did." She pouts. Hyunjin sits up as well and smiles. "If you don't pass, I'll take you out for boba. Hm?" He says as he playfully reaches over and boops her nose again. That made her smile. "Okay, fine. Just stop booping my nose!" Yenon whines and moves his hand away. He chuckles. "It's fun though! Just one more time before class!" Hyunjin says and tries to do it once more. "No, Hyunjin! Stop!" Yenon giggles and smacks his hand away.
She didn't know Hyunjin very well. But, what she did know? He was a sweetheart. But, if she knew what he did and that he was part of a gang, her entire outlook on him would change. And he intended to keep it from her as long as possible.
