Kole to the side --->
Chapter 14 Crumbling Visions
“You owe me 200!” I yelled, pretty loud. Tyler flinched.
“What? No I don’t!” He yelled right back at me.
“I passed Go! So fess up the 200!”
“The banker owes you 200, not me.”
“You are the banker Tyler.” Emma pips in.
“You’re the worst banker ever!” I told him. He rolled his eyes but handed me the $200. I stack it neatly with the other hundred bills. I had a nice little pile going. I had to guard it tooth and nail; Drew kept trying to take it.
“It’s not like you need it.” Tyler muttered as Kole rolled the dice. After our movie fest, he had come home from visiting one of his school friends. He wanted to play too and so Tyler and Emma lost their fight over the racecar. Kole was always the racecar. He rolled two fours.
“Congratulations Kole! You’re finally out of jail!” I said to him. He rolled his eyes.
“Are you always this competitive?” Drew asked.
“You haven’t seen anything.” Emma told him, “She’s ruthless.” Emma’s wheel barrow was on B&O Railroad and she rolled a seven. She groaned and reluctantly moved her wheelbarrow to North Carolina Avenue. I searched through my pile of properties until I found the right one. “You owe me $900” I smirked.
Emma glared at me while counting out 900. I smiled at her. Ah monopoly… it was destroying friendships as usual.
Tyler took his turn and landed on Atlantic Avenue, which luckily for him; he owned. We’ve been playing for hours, and practically every lot had a house or hotel on it. Except for the reds, Emma owned two of them while Tyler had the last one. He had yet to give it to her.
Now finally, it was my turn.
I got a six so that puts me… on Chance. Drawing a chance card, I quickly read it out loud, “Your building and loan matures.” I grin, “Collect $150.”
“Drew’s turn!” Tyler said handing to dice over to him. He landed on free parking, lucky him.
Now finally, it was my turn.
I got a six so that put me… on Chance. Drawing a chance card, I quickly read it out loud, “Your building and loan matures.” I grinned, “Collect $150.”
Then it was Kole’s turn again. He took the dice, happily, and rolled them. Moving his piece six places and landed on one of Emma’s places; St. James Place. With her one house, he forked over $70.
Emma suddenly screamed when she got the $70. “Finally! Someone landed on my property.” We all got a little competitive when it came to monopoly. I got a six and had to fork over 450 to Kole.
Tyler rolled an epic three and once again was safe, since he landed on his own property again. But he won’t be able to escape my wrath for much longer. I owned the all the greens and blues, the most expensive properties of the game. I grinned evilly inside my head, which apparently didn’t stay in my head. Emma sent a look to Tyler, “She’s making that face again.”
I didn’t care though. Each of my properties had at least one house while Boardwalk had a hotel. I was so beast at this game. I rolled an eleven. I lost $20 to Emma on this turn.
And now Tyler was at the dice again. There was no way he can avoid it now. He got a 10 and landed on Boardwalk. He was so close, but no cigar. I burst out laughing, “And you must pay me $2000.”
