Chapter 16 Aftermath and Beginnings

“Ow.”

I looked away from Jet to Vincent. He was glaring at Tyler.

“What was that for?” Vincent asked.

“You were embarrassing yourself. Screaming like that.”

I think Vincent was blushing. Vincent was blushing. That was just hilarious but there were more pressing matters to attend to. Like the fact Jet had his wings! This cannot be good; nothing like this had ever happened before. Ms. Mayou was still a freaking werewolf. I hesitantly walked up to the front of the room, I really didn’t want too. But my Jet was in need of help and as his older sister, it was me that had to step up to the plate. Just because he was on ceiling did not mean Ms. Mayou couldn’t jump and get at him.

Someone grabbed at my elbow, pulling me back. I was pretty sure it was Tyler but I just pulled out of his grasp and continued on my way. I slowly tapped Ms. Mayou on her shoulder. She was facing Jet with her back to all of us. She spun around growling angrily, almost lunging for me. She shifted fully into her human form; the hair that sprouted all over her body disappeared. It was really quite disgusting; no women should want that much hair covering her body. Once the hair was gone it revealed the evil werewolf teacher once more.

“I’m pretty sure, attacking humans is against the rules of the school.” I told her. I felt confident now that she wasn’t shifted anymore. Of course, I should have known better than to antagonize a werewolf, so I shouldn’t have been all that surprised when she shifted fully, leaving a very angry, and growling, brown she-wolf in her place. I had no way to protect myself.

This had not been a good idea.

We were now sitting safely in the hallway, while Ms. Mayou and her Alpha decked it out in the classroom. It was pretty loud and disturbing, but honestly I wanted to know how her Alpha even figured out something was happening. I got that they had the whole better hearing thing but… it just didn’t make sense, even for me; the angel.

I felt him before I saw him, Drew. He was running down the hall and in seconds he was right in front of me. “Are you alright?”

“I’m fine.” I told him, “How did you know?”

“A mate always knows.” he said. He brought me into a hug.

“A mate always knows?”

I felt him nod, “yes, I knew, all the way to my bones that you were in danger. Mates have this extra sense about each other. It helps us keep each other alive.”

“And you knew Ms. Mayou was going to attack me?”

“Yes, so I contacted our Alpha.”

“You’re in the same pack?” I pulled back and glanced at him. He nodded, “So that’s your Alpha in there?”

“Yes.”

“Oh… wow…”

“Why is Jet crawling on the ceiling?”

I glanced up Jet was still on the ceiling, I had been trying to figure out how to get him down. I told him that he should just stop flapping his wings but each time he did they would just start up again. It must have been some sort of instinct. He was hovering above my head. We had both been sprouting out ideas to each other before Drew showed up.

“He got his wings and doesn’t want to come down.”

“Why not stop flapping them?”

“He’s convinced it won’t work.”
