Chapter 13 The Date Complex
At the end of class everyone hung up their posters all around the room. In my opinion my poster was the best. It was on bright yellow paper and the title was ‘Vampires’ in gothic looking font. We were meant to put what we’ve learned about vampires on here but I took a different approach. Basically I pretended that I was a die-hard Twilight fan.
Things We Learned About Vampires (In gothic hand writing of course)
1) Vampires do not sparkle :( (There goes all my hopes and dreams)
2) Vampires only drink human blood (Animal blood would only kill them (Duh…))
3) Vampires are old
4) Vampires’ eyes are always red (Like the scary monsters that their not)
5) Vampires die (Everything dies! (They just live very long (Like a few hundred years)))
6) Vampires hate Twilight (It’s only natural)
And ta-da! That was our poster. It was amazing right? The die-hard Twilight fans in the class didn’t think so. Neither did Mr. Kato.
“You guys are coming over tonight right?” I asked Tyler.
He nodded, “Yup.”
“See ya then, then.”
“Wait!” Tyler yelled.
“Why are you yelling?”
He shrugged, “You were going to leave!”
“I didn’t move! Like at all.”
He shrugged sheepishly, “What are we doing tonight?”
This time I shrugged, “Dinner, maybe a movie or some games? I don’t know, we’re just gonna hang out, like old times. Just bring Emma okay? I keep forgetting to tell her.”
“Will do.” He said with a smile that left me breathless then he walked away. I watched for a few seconds; things had started to change since our awkward first date. If you could call it that; I still think it was a double date with two third wheels. But I got the feeling that it might actually hurt Tyler if I ever said so. Still; he hadn't said anything about it yet I get the feeling he will. A large part of me hoped he would. A small part felt guilty when I thought about Drew.
The bell rung and it jeered my out of my thoughts. Darn, I was late for Training. Training was one of my favorite classes… okay, it was my favorite class. We got to learn to fight and develop whatever ‘abilities’ we had. But it was mostly for vampires, werewolves, and witches, because… angels didn’t do anything. Other than destroy the world… but that was a story for another. It wasn’t really something anyone could practice for.
Walking into class, I quickly noticed that I was the last one to arrive. Thank god Ms. Elle was always at five minutes late to her own class. I walked over to Savannah and Thomas. “Where’s Kendra?” I asked when I reached them.
Savannah nodded in a direction. Looking in that direction I saw her, sitting with a werewolf, Abe. He was glaring at her and she was returning it with a glare of her own.
“Seems to be a very angry conversation.”
“it’s not even a conversation; just a glaring match.” Thomas commented when a slight frown on his face.
“What with the frown Tommy?” I asked.
“I don’t like him. And don’t’ call me Tommy.”
