Chapter 18 Hidden Secrets

Looking around my apartment a sudden sense of pride filled me. After my little night terror Drew and I spent the rest of the night cleaning up the rest of my apartment. And so everything was back to normal in the apartment. Well as normal as it could. My thoughts slowly shifted from the apartment to my dreams.

‘With one the Dirt will Crumble, With two the Oceans will Surge.’

Unfortunately I was still expecting another dream. Both dreams had felt so real, I wasn’t looking forward to the third.

It took a couple of seconds for my mind to process that a door had slammed. I looked around the living room and in a few seconds Kole came trotting in.

I yawned, “Hi Kole.”

He waved tiredly, “What’s for breakfast?”

He looks just as tired as I felt, “Rough night bud?” I asked but directed him towards the kitchen where some cereal and Drew were waiting.

He sat down at the counter, the stool squeaking a little as his weight settled. “I had a nightmare.” He mumbled through a mouthful of cereal.

I nodded sullenly, “Me too.” I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose, “Do you want to talk about.”

He shook his head not looking at me. He took a few more mouthfuls of cereal before he pushed the bowl away. He looked at me then, “It’s starting isn’t Em?”

I glanced away surprised; he hadn’t called me Em since he was four. Sometimes I forgot how much more mature he was for a young kid. Being called Em painfully reminded me that he was seven. That he was still a kid despite how mature his thoughts were.

“Yeah Kole.” I sighed. I had hoped it wouldn’t start for a while. Like more when we were all old and ready to die but it doesn’t seem to be in the stars tonight. “I believe it is.”

He nodded looking down at the counter again.

“Let’s get to school. I have to pick up Tyler and Emma on the way.”

“School?” He gasped, “That’s still important?”

I sent him a dry look, “Yes it’s still important. Go get dressed.”

He mumbled his complaints the whole way. Drew came up behind me at the moment. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me into him. “I’ve got to get going.”

I nodded and sighed, “I’ll see you later.”

“Call me if you need anything.”

“I will,” I watched him leave, my thoughts drifting.

Jet wasn’t ready to go back to school, he still hadn’t figure out what to do with his wings, so Thomas had to take over the driving privileges for the other car. When Tyler called asking for ride I was more than happy to. Then Emma called and Thomas said it’d be fine to pick her up as well. He had his twin, Savannah, Mabel and Elim. I had Tyler, Emma, Kole and Felix with me.
