Cassandra:
One week had passed, I was enjoying my job at Michelle's Kitchen. It never feels awkward that I'm working for Spencer's mom. She is much a wonderful person. She never makes me feel bad or even mentions Spencer. She has been very careful with what she says to me. And, it doesn't bother me honestly. Shows that she at least does care about me.

School was pretty cool. Like always everyone had some new gossip. So, Spencer and I weren't at the top of the radar. I was very grateful for that.

Gabriel and Carina were sweet just like always. They never brought up Spencer. And, I never had a dull moment with them. I was feeling really comfortable with them.

My mom is another story. She still tries to get Charlotte and I to not be mad, but yea, not happening. It's totally fine though. Because of my job, I'm rarely home. And when I do have free time, I avoid my "home" at all costs.

My sister and I are doing great. We hang out as much as possible without actually having to go "home". She has a boyfriend now: Samuel Adams. He's pretty chill. Seems like a good kid. I approve of him.

It's now the beginning of April. Two more months of school left. Who hoo! I have good grades, and I'm proud of that. I want to go to a good university.

Well, before that, I'm stuck in my high school life.

The first Monday of the month, I walked to Michelle's kitchen. But something was different. The sun wasn't shining like usual. Why is Florida so weird when it comes to weather? I don't even know.

Well, it was all dark, it seemed as is it was 9 PM when it was still 2:55 PM. I walked into the restaurant and went to the my office. And who did I see? Spencer, leaning casually against my desk.

"What are you doing here?" I asked harshly. "It's my mother's restaurant." "Let me rephrase: What are you doing in my office?" "Inspection." "Inspection?" He leaned towards me," I work here too." "You do?!" I shrieked. He chuckles," Yea no. Some of us don't need to work." I felt like punching him," What do you really want?" "See how you're doing," he said shrugging.

I laughed out loud," Don't bother. I'm doing great. And may I ask why now and why here?" "I don't know. I decided to do it somewhere you were forced to go, but didn't expect me in. So, I came here." "Cool, and now that you know I'm great, can you leave?" "Nope," he said popping the p. "Why not?" I demanded. "Because you aren't fine." "And you suddenly care?!" "Yes... well no. I don't suddenly care. I have always cared. I really do care about you."

I laughed again," Real funny dude." "I'm not joking." I couldn't control my anger," I was your toy Spencer!" I yelled," You used me! I was a game! I mean nothing to you! But you know something, I really did care about you and you made me believe that you cared about me too!"

He grabbed my wrists, and yelled," I do care about you! I was just stupid at first! But I fell for you! And I fell for you hard!"

"You are such an imbecile! I hate you Spencer Jackson! I hate you so much!"

"Well I love you Cassandra Holt! I love you so much!"

"Just shut up! I'm so done listening to your freaking lies! I listened to enough of them already!"

That's when Michelle walked in," Stop it! Both of you!" We both turned to look at her, speechless, and Spencer dropped my wrists. "Spencer, get out." "But mom-" he started to complain, before Michelle interrupted him," Out!" He groaned and left.

"I'm sorry Michelle," I said softly. "It's not your fault. I didn't know he was here." I nodded," I supposed. But again, I'm sorry for the little scene." "It's fine Cassandra, I don't blame you," she said softly holding my shoulder.

I smiled at her grateful," Thanks." She smiled back at me," Of course. Now I will let you do your thing," she walked out.

I sighed and took my seat. I did my work as usual, but I wasn't able to concentrate, I kept thinking about Spencer.

Spencer:

That night I waited anxiously for my mother to get home. When I heard the front door open, I ran up to her," What is wrong with you?!"

"Hi mom. How are you mom?" she said trying to tease me. "I'm not in the mood for that! Why did you take her side?!" "Because she's right!" "About what?!" "About you treating her like a toy." "But I love her!" "And I don't doubt that," she said softly. "But-" "But I took her side?" "Exactly!" "Because you did use her. You may love her now, but not before."

I sighed and flopped onto the couch and my mom sat next to me. "I love her mom. I really do." "I know sweetie, I know," she said taking me into her arms. In any other situation, I would have pushed her away, but I needed her at this moment.

And, I started to cry," Why did I do this to her? To myself? I lost her for being stupid. Why did I have to tell her the truth? I should have kept the truth to myself and I could still be with her. Happy. I probably would have spent last weekend with her, and walked her to class this morning. I would have had lunch with her, and taken her home."

My mom held my hands," I'm glad you told her the truth. It's ok my love. She was going to find out anyways. Remember this: The truth always comes to light. If she had found out some other way, and later on, it would have been so much worse."

I nodded," I suppose. But, this is horrible." "I know, I know." I stayed quiet and just sobbed. I felt like we were there for hours before my mom pulled away from me," How about you go to your room, watch Netflix, and I make you some cookies?" I smiled at her," Ok mom. But what am I supposed to watch during this moment." "How about you go watch the fast and the furious?" I chuckled," Yea ok. Thanks mom."
