I had my jaw dropped down to the floor in astonishment.

"A week?" I asked, shock evident in my voice.

"Yeah, how did you not know?" Jack questioned.

"The sky seemed like the same before I got there, I thought I was out for only a couple of hours!"

"Maybe he kept injecting you with a syringe or something to keep you knocked out." ClockWork stated.

"Why would he do that?" Toby asked her.

"I don't fuckin know."

"Oh god, I don't wanna think about that." I scrunched my nose up in distaste.

"What else did you ask him?" Ben asked.

"Nothing else really. I kinda yelled at him because he just couldn't understand that I was over him."

Then why did I kiss him so much?

"Was?"

"Am." I corrected and Ben smiled in return. I looked him up and down and he giggled. He was wearing a cute hoodie that gave him sweater paws. I think it was one of mine.

"How did you get the gun out of his hand so fast?" Jane asked, now seeming interested in the story.

"I don't know, I'm an assassin, I'm stealthy." I shrugged and she nodded.

"Well since he's dead, can you guys finally come to one of my party's?" Jack asked, seeming like It had been forever since we last hung out at his house.

"Yeah! They're not as fun without you!" Masky whined as he laid upside down on the couch with some hula hoops around his torso and ankles.

Hoodie nodded in agreement and they all excitedly waited for my answer. I looked over at Ben and he shrugged.

"I mean, I don't see why not. The only person that was keeping me from leaving this place is dead, so"

"Yay!" They cheered.

"Can we please get drunk together?" Jack asked.

Jack and I used to get drunk together at parties all the time. I guess we used to be really close but drifted as I started to date, Ben.

Ben snuck a glare at me that no one seemed to notice as they talked about the party and reminisced.

"Aren't you trying to cut back?" He whispered to me.

"Not really. It's not like I have a sober streak or anything." I admitted as I looked at the table and rested my head in my hands.

He pursed his lips at me as I crossed my arms and placed my head on my forearms.

"Can't I get drunk after a week of being away from you?" I asked as I pouted.

"You need to see a Doctor or something, what if there's something wrong with your liver? You used to be a raging alcoholic."

"But, I'm not anymore."

I still sneak away from work to get drunk and have a stash that I drink myself to sleep with. Sometimes when I get drunk I start to cry uncontrollably for no real reason. I just have a fear of cheating on Ben again and him leaving me. It never goes away.

"When was your last drink?" He asked as his eyes peered down at me.

"Like a month ago." I shrugged and yawned.

"Are you tired?"

"Mooom, can I pleaaase go to the party?" I groaned and Ben smiled and giggled

"Alright, Alright."

"Fuckin, yay!" I exclaimed as I leaned back and fell into the floor. Smile Dog leaped over to me and licked my face.

"Hey, ACK!" I exclaimed as he attacked me with affection.

"Yes!" Jack exclaimed and everyone got really excited.

Did they really miss me that much?

Ben's POV

Jeff's been acting weird since he got back like he was hiding something from me, but what? Did something happen that I'm not aware of, did he cheat on me?

No, No, he wouldn't. Besides, he said that Devon tried to have sex with him, not that they actually did. He would've told me anyway.

What about that one time I saw hickeys on his neck and then he told the truth? No, it's not like that.

What if it is?

We all got into Jeff's car. I, of course, got the passenger seat while everyone else gathered in the back. Smile Dog was in the way back with Toby and his waffles and ClockWork. Jane, Masky, and hoodie were in the seats behind us.

"Where am I gonna go?" Jack asked.

"Where were you last time? You all fit when we went to the Dollar Tree." I said.

"Just get in," Jeff grumbled. He was getting impatient.

Is that supposed to turn me on?

I bet my lip a little as I looked out the window. Jack made his way to the seats behind us and sat between Jane and Hoodie.

"If you guys start fighting like a bunch of kids again I'm actually going to make you walk," Jeff promised and everyone laughed as we made out way down the street.

I hope this party is better than my last one. I still can't believe Devon is actually dead. I wonder what his face looked like.

"Whatchya thinking about?" Jeff asked, seeming to be able to read me like a book.

Everyone else was having a conversation of their own while he talked to me.

Jeff's voice and personality were so charming. Even the simplest things made butterflies form but I was better at hiding that these days. I still get nervous sometimes, especially when we're alone and he starts to swoon me with words and actions.

"Just about this party. And I still feel weird that he's actually gone."

"Yeah, me too." Jeff agreed.

"I felt kind of odd after killing him. It wasn't anything like regret, just... weird."

"Huh," I said.

"Maybe I'm just imagining things." He shrugged.

"Yeah," I said as I trailed off and looked out the window and at the scenery, we passed by.

Author's note

I'm thinking about making chapters shorter. They're usually around 2,500 words or more but my friends are making me aware of how long that is. Their stories usually consist of around 1,000 words or less so I might start doing that. tell me if this chapter seems to short, it's a little more than 1,00 words
