I walked out of the bathroom, feeling kind of guilty about what I did but I tried to brush it off as best I could. She said she'd stop bothering us anyways, I just want to forget about her and my checkered past.

Jane passed out in the bathtub. The only words I got out of her were "Imma.. *pant* Imma just fucking sleep... here..." Then she just kind of fell off the bathroom counter, crawled into the bathtub and fell asleep. I, of course, made sure she wasn't bleeding before I left her there.

I zipped up my jeans and buckled my belt and readjusted my pants as I turned to find Ben standing at the door with it wide open. He still had his hand on the handle, as if he had just opened it moments ago.

"Oh, hey. Haven't seen you all night." I said as I tried to give him a friendly smile.

"Yeah.." He said slowly.

Does he know?

"I heard you were with Jane and looked around for you," Ben said as he lifted his leg and inched his ankle. He started to look down at his hands.

Was he worried about me?

"Oh, how'd you get in?" I asked, remembering that Jane had locked it.

"It.. automatically locks from the outside," I said as I gave him a weary smile. I didn't want him to know that she was the one who had locked it.

What reason was there for her to do that other than the obvious one?

"Uhuh." He said in a tone that made me think he didn't really believe me.

"Jack has a spare key that goes to his room and lent it to me. Where's Jane?" He asked.

I looked in the corner of my eye towards the bathroom.

"Is she in there?" Ben asked as he pointed to the door and I could feel myself starting to sweat.

Keep it cool.

"Uh," I was about to come up with an excuse before he started to walk over to the bathroom. My stomach dropped as he got closer.

"W-Wait," I grabbed his wrist and tugged him to a stop. He halted and turned to me.

"She's in there, right?" He asked with a blank face.

"Well... yeah but she's pretty tired. She passed out in the bathtub, it's not pretty." I chuckled.

"Well... Why'd she pass out?" He asked accusingly.

"She was... drunk," I stated simply.

...

"Why don't I believe you?" He whispered in a broken voice, almost to himself. Suddenly tears filled his vision as he let out a small sob.

He looked up at me and covered his mouth with his hands. He wiped away his tears and tried to stay strong but he knew he couldn't hold it back any longer.

"W-Why," His voice broke again as he let out a few more sobs.

My heart dropped as he broke down in front of me. He sat on the edge of Jack's bed and cried. I stood there and fumbled with my fingers. I so badly wanted to rush over to him and comfort him but I couldn't, knowing I was the reason why he was crying in the first place.
