"Do you (Y/F/N), take Ashton Fletcher Irwin to be your wedded husband? Do you promise to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him in sickness and in health, remaining faithful to him as long as you both shall live?" The vicar looks at me with a straight face, clearly not amused by the daily ritual he experiences.
"I do." I grin from ear to ear and look towards my soon to be husband. Ashton looks down and bites his lip, as if he is thinking very hard.
"Do you Ashton Fletcher Irwin, take this (Y/F/N) to be your wedded wife? Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her in sickness and in health, remaining faithful to her as long as you both shall live?" The vicar looks at him. Ashton looks up, he looks close to crying. The whole church is nearly silent, all that's heard are my sharp intakes of breath. It's been around 5 minutes, we're still waiting for his answer. Tears fall from my eyes and glide down what was my perfect makeup, spoiling everything each tear touches. With every moment he stays silent, I die more on the inside.
"Ashton Please." I sob to myself.
"No." Is the one word that broke my heart, and with that one word he ran out of the room, leaving me as a crying mess at the foot of the altar. Why would he ask me to marry him if he wasn't sure? Why would he do this? What's wrong with me?
Ashton Fletcher Irwin. He left me heart broken at the altar. Our baby is going to grow up without a dad.
