"Who is she?" She said as she pointed at me, disgust clearly in her face.
"She," Ashton stuttered as he tried to find an explanation, his arm that wrapped my waist, lowering to his side, "She's nobody." He let out a deep breath as he mouthed 'sorry' to me.
"Then why is she here?" Ashton's mother, Anne Marie, asked as she crossed her arms.
"She's Luke's friend and he sent her to get some things he forgot." Ashton lied, not looking me in the eye, each word hit me like a dagger.
Anne Marie nodded, "Dinner's ready, she must be leaving- It's late." She pursed her lips, mad at Ashton's behavior. 'Bringing a girl- friend or not- after late hours? Not the way I raised him.' She thought as she exited, making sure to close the door.
"I'm sorry Y/N," Ashton started to apologize the moment his mother left, he walked towards me, trying to hug me.
"Save it," I shook my head and gently pushed him back, "Why apologize to nobody?"
Ashton's eyes saddened.
"I- You-" He stuttered, "She doesn't let me date Y/N. I thought you knew that." He said, his eyes begging for forgiveness.
"I do know it, but you could have said something else. A friend? Someone you're doing a school project with? But 'nobody'?" I said in disbelief. This was a new low for Ashton.
"I wasn't thinking! Y/N please!" He pulled at his hair in frustration. "Goddamn Y/N!" Ashton said as he lost his patience. He isn't one who has much patience, he had taken long enough to lose it. "You know what?"
"What?" I said challenging him as I crossed my arms and smirked angrily.
"You can leave right now and not come back! If you're nobody then why waste time talking to 'nobody'. " He used air quotes as he quoted what I had told him minutes ago.
My eyes widened and my smirk dropped, we've had arguments, stupid, childish ones, but it had never come to the point where one had kicked the other out. "Alright," I grabbed my jacket from his bed, "But just remember this is the last time you," I pointed at him, "talk to me." I kept a stern look, but my eyes glassed with warm tears.
"No," Ashton said, realizing that he had made yet another mistake in a count of minutes. "We're not through."
I ignored him and started walking away from him. Just as I was opening his bedroom's door, he pulled my wrist, engulfing me in a warm hug and kissed me. His warm lips on mine, his strong arms gently around my body. And although I was beyond mad at him, I kissed him back, slowly and passionately, dropping my jacket and wrapping my arms around his neck. My tears quickly disappearing, I knew we couldn't fix our problems with just a kiss like in the fairytales, but I just felt it impossible to resist him.I have to go, Ash." I whispered as our lips parted. Ash closed his eyes and joined our foreheads, slowly nodding. "Bye." He hugged me for what seemed hours, and I enjoyed every second of it. Our anger towards each other vanished quicker than it had come.
"I love you, Y/N." Ashton said as he pecked my lips once more, a smile radiating off of him. I stared at him in awe, we hadn't said that we loved each other in a very long time.
"I love you, Ash."
***NEXT DAY***
"Y/N?" I heard a soft voice as someone awoke me from my deep slumber, "Y/N dear, wake up."
As I opened my eyes, the light that came from the sun that invaded my room, hit my eyes and made me wince, "What?" I could vaguely make out my mum's figure. "What?" I asked once more as I rubbed my eyes and sat up.
She smiled brightly, "Someone's looking for you,"
"Who?"
The sparkle in her excited eyes gave out the mysterious visitor; Ashton. No one could give that certain spark to my mum but him, she often stated that she enjoyed his company dearly and that he would be a great son-in-law, often making me laugh, we're both just so young. "Ashton," she said, confirming my suspicions.
"Please tell him to wait, I'll be down in a second, I just don't want to look like a troll infront of him." I said smiling, all tiredness that I felt before was gone when I knew that Ashton waited for me. My mum nodded and left my room.
I took no time in getting ready and ran out of my room and into the living room. Ashton waited for me as he sat on a brown leather couch that was beside an open window, fiddling with his fingers and playing with his black tee. I walked to him, my heels' clicking making me catch his eye. Ashton smiled, "Beautiful as always." He mumbled against my neck as he hugged me, his hot breath tickling my neck. "I was wondering if you were free today, are you?" He asked me as he let go of me.
"I'm fucking expensive, but for you I am." I said jokingly. "Why?" I asked innocently.
"I have something planned for us." He gave me a sweet smile and grabbed my hand. "Up for it?"
I nodded, "Up for it."Before I knew it, we were both in Ashton's car, we put on our seat belts and he turned to me, "I have a surprise for you." And as he spoke, I couldn't help but notice the excitement that each word carried.
"Tell me!" I exclaimed as he started the car. He shook his head and bit his lip. "Just one clue?" I asked as I showed him one finger.
"Let me think about it?" He said as he pretended to think, "How about no?" He said. For the rest of the rest of the ride we quietly hummed along to the songs that were played in radio, his angelic voice making the songs even more enjoyable. "We're here." He said as he drummed his fingers on the steering wheel.until we arived..
"Your home?" I asked as I pointed to our destination, "Why?"
"It's a surprise." He said as he parked the car beside the house. We exited the car and entered the home, the soft scent of vanilla welcoming me into the house. As we entered, I quickly took notice of Ashton's mum, who sat on a wooden chair and read a book with much interest.
My blood quickly turned cold and my hair rose in surprise, "Ash." I started.
"Oh you're here!" She said as she smiled, a smile I recognized that Ashton inherited. "You wanted to speak to me Ashton?" She asked as she discreetly eyed our hand holding.
"Yes." Ashton took a deep breath as is saying 'here goes nothing'. "This is Y/F/N, and I'm," He closed his eyes worriedly, "And I'm dating her. I've been dating her for three years now and we don't want to hide from you anymore. I feel like I'm betraying you when you ask if I'm dating someone and I say I'm not when in reality, I'm dating Y/N." He squeezed my hand and I squeezed his back supporting.
"I know I've disrespected you by lying, I know you gave me orders and I disobeyed, but I just couldn't help but ask Y/N out. She's perfect in every single way that I can imagine; her contagious laugh, her eyes that have the power to create world peace, her body that fits like a puzzle with mine and in so many other ways that I don't have words for. I'm sorry to tell you this, but no matter what happens after this, I can't leave her. I love her." Anne Marie sat back down on her chair, I felt bad for her, hearing all of this in a matter of seconds, I'd sure be acting a lot worse than her.
"I just," She said in surprise, "My little boy is growing up." She said, small tears brimming on her eyeliner-ed eyes. "You two may date." She said quietly. Ashton smiled and hugged me tightly. "BUT," She started once more, making us stop our celebration, "Don't lower you grades and don't get in trouble or else you're back to being a single pringle." She said, adding a joke to ease the tension.
"Thank you, Mrs. Irwin." I thanked her.
"Don't get in trouble kids!" She warned.
"We won't." We said in unison.
"Did you like your surprise?" Ashton asked once we had left his house and were in the car.
"Like? Ashton, I loved it. Thank you so much!" I hugged him a kissed his cheek.
"And you know what?" He started.
"What?"
"Everything I said in there, I meant it."
