Chapter 16
KAY'S POV:
It's been three days since Nash asked me to be his girlfriend and I've felt like I'm on cloud 9 ever since.
We've gone on a date to the movies but other than that we have tried to take things slow.
I'm also re-enrolling at school. It will be good to be back. I still haven faced Mia or anybody else yet.
So to put things simply I've been living in a tree house for the past week.
And Nash has been wonderful, and sweet.
Right now we're sitting in the house playing a game of war. The card game.
"HA! I won!" Nash said excitingly as he jumped up in triumph.
"Ok, ok, I get it! You're way better at cards then me. No need to rub it in!" I said smiling as he danced around the room.
"But you think it's awesome and amazing and want to give me a kiss for my special abilities!" he said smiling cheekily.
We haven't actually kissed yet but according to Nash we should and he keep bringing up ways to do it.
"Ok." I said
Let's see if I can play along too.
"Really? Ok!" he said surprised.
"Close your eyes." I said softly ad he did.
Then I quickly gave him a peck on the cheek and ran down the ladder.
"Hey!" he yelled as he opened his eyes and chased after me.
We ran through the woods until we came to the parking lot at school where Nash was supposed to be.
"Dang Kay why'd you bring us here?" he whined.
I laughed. "You should be in there cramming knowledge into your brain and not chasing me all over the woods." I said looking at him.
"Are you sure you'll be alright?" he asked.
Ever since that guy tried to take me at the coffee place he's been very cautious and alert.
"Yes I'll be fine. I promise." I said before I went on my tip-toes to peck his cheek.
"Ok. Please go back to the house. I don't want you out. I'll see you after school." He said.
I laughed. It's cute how protective he is. "I promise I won't leave. See you later!" I yelled as he walked back to school.
The rest of the day consisted of me watching a movie then I put together this work out plan for myself.
I'm used to playing sports and going to the gym. I've put on a lot of weight just sitting around here so I did that.
Then Nash came home and he brought pizza so we had dinner then he had to go home.
He said goodbye and climbed down the ladder.
Tomorrow I start school. But who would know right? No one ever bothers to notice so who cares.
I hope tomorrow goes ok. Please let it go ok.
NASH'S POV:
Today Kay is enrolling back into school.
I'm really excited I get to tell everyone about her. I know she'll be nervous but I'll be right there with her.
After breakfast I ran to the house (I stopped referring to it as the tree house. It's a house to Kay so I call it the house) and saw Kay was already waiting.
"Ready?" she asked perkily.
If I didn't know any better I'd say she isn't worried at all. But I do know better and I can see nervousness in her blue eyes.
"Yep! Are you excited?" I asked her.
"Yes and no. I'm excited to go back but I'm nervous. You do know that I will bring you down right? If you don't want to you don't have to tell anyone." She said.
Her nervousness amused me. "Kay. There's no way you're getting out of this. I don't care about stupid social pyramids. I'm with my girl and that's all I care about." I said. It's true.
"If you say so." She said timidly.
I smiled at her as I took her small hand and walked to school with her.
--------------------------------------------
The morning went by really fast mostly because Kay is in all my morning classes. But after lunch I literally never see her until the end of the day.
That's making me a little nervous. I still don't trust humanity after what happened at the coffee shop.
"Hey dude!" Cam said as he came up behind me.
Turns out he's totally cool with me and Kay.
"Want to play truth or dare?" he asked challengingly.
"It's on." I said being the dumb witted boy I am.
"Truth or dare?" he said.
Y mind told me to pick the safe truth but then Cam would think I'm a wimp and I don't want that.
"Dare." I said and knew I was going to regret it.
"Go kiss Betsy Sogas over there." He said.
And there's the part I will regret.
"Dude I can't do that! Kay and I haven't even kissed and you want me to walk up to some random girl and kiss her? Not gonna happen." I said.
"But you chose dare so you have to. C'mon man Kay is in class now. She will never know!" he persuaded.
You see, this is why I think Cam should be a lawyer he can persuade anyone! My reason for saying this is after his motivational speech there I went to do the dare.
I reached Betty I think her name was? And I closed my eyes held my breath and kissed her.
It was boring. No sparks flew nothing magical happened but I Opened my eyes to see Cam's face pale before he smacked himself and started shaking his head.
I looked a little to his right and I'm pretty sure my face went pale.
Kay stormed out of school and ran to the tree house.
I walked over to Cam still trying to recover from what the heck just happened.
"Did she-?"
"Mhm" Cam already knew my question.
"Am I toast?"
"Burnt."
KAY'S POV:
I couldn't believe it. This was the forth day and he already found a new girl. Impeccable.
I can't stay. Not here.
I packed my bags wrote my last goodbye to Nash and slipped out. I'm sorry. I can't.
