Chapter 23
NASH'S POV:
Kay's face was overjoyed when she saw what I had set up.
We talk about everything and nothing all night and it was pretty much the basis of perfect.
We were sitting on beam bags watching a movie when I knew that she just might be ready. Then I remembered Mia telling me about her.
Flashback:
"So you really think you want to ask her again?" Mia asked looking at me.
"Yes. After the dinner I have planned out we will watch a movie. What's her favorite movie?" I asked.
Mia thought until she said "Probably The Lion King." She said
"Lion king. Ok I can do that! What's her favorite color?" I asked.
"Easy, orange." She said.
"Favorite food?"
"Spaghetti and Meatballs"
"Favorite song?"
"Back For You: One Direction."
"Favorite ice cream topping?"
"M&M's"
"Favorite night time activity?"
"Fireworks"
"Favorite daytime activity?"
"Walks in the woods or through the public gardens. Places peaceful and beautiful."
"Ok I'm out of questions." I said defeated. There was nothing this kid didn't know.
"Great! So can I go now cause Hayes and I are kind of going out." She said motioning to the door.
"Yeah of course! Go ahead! Thanks! Have fun you two!" I said as she waved and left.
She'll be an awesome sister-in-law. I thought.
End of Flashback
"So Kay!" I said grabbing her attention.
"Do you want to go watch some fireworks? There are some in the park next to the river?" I asked.
She smiled at me and I relaxed.
"Of course! I love fireworks. Although I will admit sometimes they scare me." She said looking at the ground.
"Don't worry! That's why I'm here!" I said as we walked out of the house.
We climbed down and walked to an open field where I had set up lights, a blanket, and some more food.
Her smile just grew as she looked at me.
"Thank you! For everything you do. Despite my stubbornness." She said.
I smiled at her and I was pretty sure I had this in the bag.
"Of course. The best for the best." I said as she looked down at the ground blushing.
We walked over to the blanket and I flopped down. This entire experience has been very stressful. Trying to win her over. But think I know she's as ready as I am to give this another chance.
She laid down next to me resting her head on my shoulder and I wrapped my arm around her.
"You're the best you know that?" she asked looking up at me.
I smiled and kissed her forehead.
"I'm yours Kay. Always have been, always will be. There's nothing I would rather do." I said as she snuggled closer to me.
I took off my jacket and she used it to cover herself from the autumn cold.
"Do you.......... would you....... what if we..... Umm?" she stuttered. But I knew what she was trying to say.
I placed my hand over hers, which was resting on my chest.
"Kay. I would love to have you to call mine again. I'm willing to give this another chance. But only if you are." I said. I saw her facial features relax and I exhaled in relief.
"Of course." She whispered into my chest.
Then she looked up at me an I pulled her in for a long passionate kiss.
Forget the term score. We're talking HOME RUN!!
