"...lastly Taeyong and Ten... you'll be working together," The teacher announced the pairs they would be working together with the course project and Taeyong cursed internally.

There was just no chance he and Ten could get a thing done before the deadline. He would now pull his hair if he dared to.

He glanced at his side. They were supposed to plan the project now like everyone else already did but Ten made no attempt to get closer to him. He didn't even look at him. Taeyong did the first move walking to the other and pulled a chair to the across the table. He then took his book out and started to flip the pages to find some inspiration.

He felt eyes burning on him. He was sure Ten was looking at him now. He raised his head and Ten looked away quickly. Weird. "So...do you have any idea what we should work on with this project?"

"Uh... not yet," They talked as if they were strangers. The whole period passed by as they sat in silence thinking about the project but mostly other things.

"I've got an idea...but the class is just ending. Could we um...continue this now in the library? We should get something done before the next lesson," Taeyong suggested. He looked up at Ten who only nodded and started packing his things.

"Sure, I'll go first," He stood up and didn't wait for Taeyong.

They had decided to go with Taeyong's idea and now after an hour they had gotten work well done. Both of them thought that it was weird how well they could still work together counting in the recent events. They actually didn't mention about anything unrelated to the project at any point.

He knew that Ten stared him again as he was taking down the notes but he didn't dare to ask why he did that.

"Um...do you think we should include this too?" He asked and flipped his book around for Ten to look at. He leaned a bit over the table pointing the place on the page with his pen. When he didn't get answer he lifted his eyes to look at the other and just then realised how close they were to each other. Ten looked at him with an odd expression Taeyong couldn't read. He didn't even break the eye contact immediately like Taeyong had thought.

Suddenly Taeyong's phone rang on the table and Ten looked down. Taeyong sat down again and looked at the caller id.

Incoming call 'My Jaehyunie❤️'

He hesitated to answer when Ten was sitting just in front of him. He looked up at Ten seeing him looking at his phone so he quickly took it from the table and hid it under it. He had seen it.

"You should answer it," Ten said sounding somehow disappointed. Then the ringing stopped.

"I can just call back later-"

"I think we're done for today," Ten decided and stood up abruptly but his book dropped from the table at the same time. He crouched down to pick up the book and all the papers that fell down.

"Fuck dammit!" He cursed when he tried to stand up but hit his head on the edge of the table instead. What he did not expect was Taeyong being fast and bending on his knees next to him. Before he could say anything, Taeyong brushed his hands away from his hair placing them with his own.

"Where does it hurt? I'll go get ice. Wait a second-" He stood up then but Ten grabbed his arm before he could rush away.

"It doesn't hurt that much. I'll survive," Taeyong looked down at him again and their eyes met. He looked surprised as Ten had grabbed his hand but did no attempt of brushing it away. Ten stood up too.

"Are you sure?" Taeyong reached his other hand to his hair again but it was grabbed by Ten too.

"Why are you trying to touch me suddenly?" Ten asked and the other looked at him again.

"But your head-"

"I'm fine Taeyong! What about you? You're not like freaking out or anything," He lifted Taeyong's other hand in front of him.

"I guess I'm not...because y-you're my friend," Ten dropped his hands looking at the other with the same odd expression.

Ten noticed how the other looked at him cluelessly like he had always done. He was always just a friend in Taeyong's eyes. Even if he was the one who had been his support when the other was on the verge of breaking. He knew he had been everything to Taeyong. Until someone else came into his life.

He had only wanted to be the only one close to Taeyong. Just as a friend. That was all he ever wanted. But now things were different.

He let his eyes wander from Taeyong's eyes to lower onto his slightly parted lips. His nicely shaped pink lips. He needed to be selfish for a change if he wanted things to change to the way they were supposed to be.

"Ten I know I've asked this many times already but can't we really be friends anymore?" Friends. Right, that was all he would ever be to Taeyong.

"Sure...if you hug me," Taeyong's eyes widened with that. Ten didn't think he would be able to do it and that's why he had said it. He was wrong. Taeyong suddenly wrapped his arms around him and hugged him tightly. Ten was really taken aback. Did he really want to be friends with him that bad? He meant that much for Taeyong?

Taeyong's chin was on his shoulder and he kept in place as he didn't know how long he should hug him. What surprised him the most was not how normal it felt to hug someone else than Jaehyun but that when Ten hugged him back suddenly. It made him really happy. Were they really going to be friends again? He hoped.

He had waited for years for something like this to happen. He had wanted to be able to feel this close to Taeyong for long but now when it was possible, the boy already belonged to someone else.

"Sorry, I was just lying," Ten confessed.

"What?! What were you?" Taeyong broke free from the hug and stared at him in shock and...fear?

"Don't be ridiculous. I won't be friends with you just because you hugged me," He gave him cold glare.

"But- but I thought-"

"You thought wrong," He saw how heartbroken Taeyong looked and he couldn't keep on his act anymore. Smile crept on his lips gradually and then Taeyong realised what he had just done.

"You-you lied!? How dare you? You almost gave me a heart attack!!" He pushed Ten harshly to have him stumble backwards. Ten just laughed out loud and the other pouted. "A-Are we really friends again now?"

"Yeah why not? I'm really sorry the way I reacted and all the things I said. Your sexuality shouldn't affect on our friendship," He smiled and Taeyong smiled then too, the frown fading away.

"Then I'll hug you everyday that you won't forget that," Taeyong hugged him again.
