They walked outside together into the huge garden and Taeyong was stunned at how much people dressed in fancy clothes there was. Most of the people looked middle aged business men and women but there was also much young people. Probably their sons and daughters. Drinks were being served and the tables were full of fancy looking desserts. Taeyong felt out of the place. He didn't think he belonged in this kind of fancy party, if this even could be called a party in the first place.
He spotted Jaehyun a little farther away staring coldly back at him. Next to him there were Lucas and Jungwoo and the two girls too. It looked like they all knew each other.
"Taeyong...Taeyong?" Jieun squeezed his hand to get his attention. He reluctantly removed his eyes away from Jaehyun. "There's my parents. Let's go to say hi."
"Yeah okay," They walked to them but they seemed to be having a conversation with a serious looking couple. Taeyong didn't want to disturb them but Ji-Eun pulled him with her anyway.
"Mom, dad," Ji-Eun got their attention immediately and the two beside them turned to them too.
"Ji-Eun-" Her mom started.
"Oh Ji-Eunie, long time no see. You look beautiful as always," The unfamiliar woman next to her parents spoke up interrupting Ji-Eun's mom.
"Good evening Mrs. and Mr. Seo," She bowed to them and Taeyong did so too spontaneously.
"So tell us who's this handsome next to you. Boyfriend?"
"Uh well...you could say that but we're actually more just close friends," Taeyong was relieved to hear what she said. He wouldn't want random people to believe a lie like Jaehyun had said.
"Your hands tell otherwise," She winked at them as if she would know something. Taeyong looked at Ji-Eun on his side.
The really tall man next to Ji-Eun's parents continued to talk with them and didn't say a word to the youngsters. "Johnny is somewhere here too. Go greet him too."
"Of course, we will. See you later Mrs. Seo," The two of them left and Ji-Eun let go of his hand.
"Sorry about that," She said as they walked trying to find a free table.
"It's okay," Suddenly Jieun stopped him by pulling his arm. Taeyong turned around to see what she was looking at.
"Ji-Eunie, my pretty future wife, lovely to see you again," A tall guy holding a half empty champagne glass walked closer to them. He certainly didn't look fully sober as he walked a bit funnily.
"Johnny..." She glared at him. Now the guy stood in front of them.
"Oh Ji-Eunie stop glaring at me that much. It doesn't suit your pretty and short dress. Tell me, who's this?" He nodded towards Taeyong and took a sip from his glass, glaring at him the whole time as he did so. Taeyong felt like hiding away from his gaze. Suddenly he felt Ji-Eun's hand intertwining with his again.
"Of course, he's my boyfriend," Johnny looked between them for a second, then laughed.
"Oh Ji-Eun, you don't do boyfriends. And seriously, this guy here is like too short and thin for you. I wonder if he even weights more than my right arm," He sipped the glass empty and put it on the table next to him.
"Johnny stop insulting all the time. You know I don't like it," Ji-Eun snapped. Johnny the walked before Taeyong and leaned ever too close to his face. Taeyong felt like hiding under a table but kept the eye contact with him anyway.
"Seo Johnny," He introduced and leaned back raising his hand for a handshake for Taeyong.
"Lee Taeyong, Ji-Eun's boyfriend," He tried to sound as cold as the other while ignoring the hand and luckily his right hand was holding Ji-Eun's so it didn't look as disrespectful. Okay of course it did...
