I know y'all are confused as to why my mom said I'm Chosen. Yeah, she made me believe our family has one chosen one. As in, my grandmother is a chosen and she gave birth to my mom who is also a chosen, my mom being a chosen is privileged as she puts it to give birth to the next chosen one. I, in turn, will give birth to another chosen. And all Chosen ones are females.

Well, I don't buy any of that cause I don't see how I am chosen, I don't even see the so called powers she said i have, I don't see how I will overcome this stupidity and clumsiness and I don't see how I will meet my 'soulmate' with this stupidity.  I'm clearly not a Chosen.

Oh! I haven't fed you with the soulmate story. I bet you have a lot to catch up on. So, mom said I would meet my soulmate who I would be stuck with for the rest of my life. When I asked her how I would know he is the one, she said I will know with just a look of his eyes! Gosh! Are we in a movie? Like a 'love at first sight thing'.

I wish I'm just another girl from another family. Not that I hate my family, I love mom and granny so much but they are insane. How can they believe in fairytale at this age? At first, I thought it was just mom until granny started saying the same thing. That was when I knew they were both insane.

I got to my favourite spot. It's a large rock in the middle of the woods. I ran to it every time I needed comfort and somehow, I got one each time I came. The way the breeze blew and the tall trees around calmed my nerves. I guess that was why I loved the place.

Oh, forgive my manners. Sorry I let my problems get the better of me. My name is Amelia. Dad gave me that. Unfortunately, he's no more. Mom doesn't use much of my name, it reminds her of dad so she calls me 'baby' most of the time, Granny calls me 'Amy' and as you would have already known, my classmates call me 'stupid'. I don't bother to fight it cause I know it's the truth. I heave another sigh and I lean on the big tree trunk behind my rock.

Not having anything to do because most time I came to my rock, I came with my books and do my assignments but today is different. Trying so hard not to think of my life, I pulled out my hair pin and inscribed my name on the tree trunk. I inscribed a bold 'AMELIA'. I look at my work and smile satisfied.

Having cooled off, and feeling a bit hungry, I decided to walk back home. I'll have to apologize to mom for yelling at her.
