Adam's P.O.V
She looked prettier. So pretty. Her hair's longer, curlier and light. It bounced as she spoke. Her skin. Oh, her skin is perfect. Like something was shining light beneath it's layer. Her eyes were brighter. I noticed that too. Her lips had become fuller too. Plump lips. How on earth did I not notice all of this the last time I met her? Maybe I was too focused on getting Dad's cure. Oh, her beauty will come to waste. I kind of pity her. But I still have to restore my family. That's so certain. She...
"What are you?" She spoke softly.
Her question had stopped my thoughts. What am I? What sort of question is that? How do I respond?
"I'm human. What do you think?"
She walked closer. I stiffened as she walked past me to sit on the other side of the rock. Reflex made me adjust from her like she was a wildfire. I know who I'm dealing with. I don't want to cross paths with a chosen. They can be dangerous. So I heard.
As she sat on the rock, a new kind of warmth hit me. It's not the kind that will make you sweat or uncomfortable. It's not the kind I felt when she carelessly burned me. It's the kind of warmth that makes you want more, that makes you happy. I don't know how to put it but it feels really good.
"I think you are a magician or a wizard. Psst... Of course, you are human"
Her voice came out sweet and soft even with the sarcasm in her tone. The pink rose scent coming from her wafted my nostrils and clouded my thinking. I shifted away from her. It seems she's putting a spell on me. Have I wronged her in any way?
She made a small noise and sniffed which made me realize we were having a conversation.
"Huh... I'm not any of those. I'm neutral. I mean, normal"
What the heck is wrong with me? Is she truly casting a spell on me? Had she really realized my intentions and is punishing me with this?
She muttered something I didn't hear.
It was until she stood up I realized she said she wanted to go home.
I stood up too, giving her enough room to pass and stylishly moving away from her. Her scent filled the air as she passed me. That scent. So sweet. It will cease to exist soon.
"Adam! I'm Adam!" I called out to her.
She paused, then resumed walking. I don't even know why I wanted her to know me.
As I lost sight of her, the warmth vanished.
It was from her. The warmth.
