Amelia's P.O.V

I opened the door to the house and slumped down crying. I really am stupid. No doubts. I have been too stupid not to believe mom and Granny, now it happened as a shock. I really do have a soulmate. I can't have made a mistake. He felt the burn too.

"Baby!"

Mom and Granny came running to me. Granny wasn't supposed to be here on a Thursday but I didn't care at the moment. Thank God she's here. I need her the most.

"Amy, what's wrong? Why are you crying?" She began raising me from the floor to the sofa.

"I found him" was all I could say as more tears threatened to spill out.

"Who?" Mom asked. Utterly confused.

"Her soulmate, silly!" Granny hissed

I sighed, not ready for their drama. I wasn't in the mood right now.

"Baby, how do you feel?" I was in between mom and Granny on the sofa.

"I.. I feel warm inside"

Mom gave me a brilliant smile and pulled me closer

"After you... "

"Don't rush her Kate!"

"I will just go upstairs"

I need to lay down and think. Mom and Granny are making things worse for me.

"Yes go, that will be the best, Amy" Granny ushered me upstairs with her hand.

Upstairs, as I turned to enter my room, I heard mom and Granny arguing in hushed tones, clearly not wanting me to hear.

"... but we really have to put her through. She has no idea. " Mom whisper-shouted at Granny.

"We will, but not now. She has to cool down"

"Mom, sometimes I think Amelia doesn't have powers. But now, claiming she saw her soulmate, I really don't know what to think. Maybe I haven't given birth to the chosen yet and Mark is dead. Do you think that's the case?"

"You shouldn't talk that way Kate. Amelia is the chosen one. No doubts about that"

"But there has to be signs. She said she feels warm. She has to have done something recklessly. You remember I blew up your gazebo the day I found Mark. You told me how you made Grandpa pee on his pants. That's how it works, isn't it?"

"Give her some time, Kate. I bet she has done something she doesn't know about. Give her time" Granny patted her and stood up.

"Oh... " Granny gasped as she saw me on the stairs. I didn't realize I had walked down.

I ran back into my room. It's all too much for me.
