Adam's P.O.V
"Leave me alone. Just get out of my head!" I cursed under my breath, trying and failing to get the Chosen girl out of my mind. I can't keep thinking of her. What is she doing to me? Oh, Dad warned me. I hadn't been careful. I can't let her put a spell on me, I can't let her into my head. I need a plan, a good plan to get her to cure Dad fast.
"Dad... " I haven't checked on him today. Jeez, how did I forget?
I walked quickly over to his room."Dad?" He was in his normal position; on the bed, laying on his back, eyes fixed on the ceiling above.
"Oh, Adam. Thank goodness you are here. I'm starving please" He said tiredly.
"Oh my! I'm sorry. You know, mom was the one that does all of this. I'm really not used to it."
"Yeah, I miss her too" He gave me a weak smile which made me resolve to bring the Chosen girl to him.
"Dad, you will be fine"
I literally ran to the kitchen to make sandwiches. Oh man, how did that escape my mind? Well, I haven't had anything to eat too.
I quickly made some sandwiches for Dad and myself with two glasses of warm milk."Here, Dad. Careful, don't stretch too much" I carefully placed the sandwich in his palm, tilting the cup of milk so he could take a drink.
"Thank you son, your mother would have been so proud of you if she was here"
"Yeah" I said through mouthful. I hadn't realized how hungry I was until now.
"Adam... What about the Chosen girl?"
I stuffed my mouth, using my full mouth as a reason not to give a reply immediately."Oh... Amelia... She's uh... It's in progress" I finally said after deliberately chewing slowly. I focused on my glass of milk like I could see myself through it.
I didn't want to ruin the moment. Dad and I have never really had a conversation as peaceful as this one. I need to thread on thin ice."Adam, I'm dying. I need that girl fast. You can't let me die, I am your only family. You have no one else"
The way he said he's the only one I have left stirred something in me. Maybe anger, I don't know but I clearly don't like the sound of it."Yeah, sure. I'll get her. You won't die"
"Well, that depends on how soon you bring her to me" he said, finishing the last of his sandwich.
I just sat there, across his room, staring at the floor without a word.
My thoughts traveled back to the one person I didn't want to think of. I could even smell her pink rose scent. The way it wafted my nostrils and clouded my senses when I'm with her, the way it leaves a trail when she's gone.
No, no. Not you again. I don't want to think of you. Let me be, please! I begged Amelia inside my head.Dad's soft snores filled the large room, forcing me back to reality.
"Goodnight, Dad" I called as I left his room.
I think I have a plan now. I hope it works.
