Amelia's P.O.V

I was still surprised. I couldn't wait to tell Mom and Granny about it. I had changed Miss Palmer's mind and I made Mia fall from her chair. It wasn't coincidence. I did it.

Some minutes to closing, I felt that same pull but this time, it was stronger. After closing, I packed my bag and left school to attend to my rock. I know the pull was from my rock.

As I approached my rock, I felt something. A presence. Then I saw him. His gaze was fixed on the floor, at nothing in particular. His fists were clamped shut beside him. His lips were tightly pressed together.

That was when it hit me. He was the one pulling me here. Not my rock. I had been gullible to think a mere rock could pull me.

As I tried to go back quietly, I stepped on dried leaves and it gave me away.

He stopped abruptly. What is he? A magician. Oh no. I don't want to be stuck with a Magician for the rest of my life.

"Hey. I thought you wouldn't come."

He pulled me out of my thoughts. Amelia, you don't have to be scared of him. You are Chosen. I kept saying to myself. Don't fidget.

"You did that?"

I had been thinking the pull was from my rock. I'm surprised and disappointed. Surprised at how he could pull me. How did he do something like that? What the heck is he? What have i gotten myself into? I should never have found this rock.

I was disappointed that the pull hadn't been from my rock. I had made myself believe my rock could pull me when it misses me.

"What?"

"You pulled me, didn't you?"

Didn't he? Was I daydreaming? I felt it. Or was it part of being a chosen? You get drawn to your soulmate? What is happening?

"Uhm.. Yeah"

"How did you?"

He couldn't possibly be an air bender. He couldn't control air to pull me to him. That only happens in movies.
He shrugged and leaned on the tree trunk.

"I don't know"

I was still standing on the same spot, wondering what he is. Then, I asked him my thought.

"What are you?"
