Things mainly carried on as to how they were before. It felt like the slightest parts had changed though.
Blaine noticed that he still got stares from students, but some were pitiful instead of disgusted. Only a couple though. But it didn't make them much better.
Kurt could already sense the creepy crushers trying to pounce on him at any moment. He'd already gotten 5 cards asking him to be their valentine, and it wasn't even first period yet. And it was January.
The glee clubs lessons went back to normal after Blaine returned, much to Klaine's dismay. Obviously, Blaine hadn't even gotten the chance to have any of his lessons with glee club and realised that he'd have to go through all of his lessons alone.
Somehow, the school hadn't sorted out Tina, having only given her a week on after-school detention with Mr Schuester, which no one could imagine would be fun for Will.
Due to the fact that Blaine's mom barely took any notice of him, his dad was in jail and his brother was in California, Kurt had to take matters into his own hands when it came to getting Blowen- Wang punished.
After school that day, Kurt hurried into his home, eager to talk to his dad. "DAD! I NEED TO TALK TO YOU!" Kurt bellowed through their small home.
"Yeah, what is it, kid?" Burt said, walking in, opening a can of beer, which earned him a glare from Kurt.
"Look, I know it's a lot to ask, but can we fight against Tina? Like in court, professionally?"
"Of course. It's what she deserves."
"Now, I knew you'd say that, which is why I wrote this long, long - wait, did you say yes? OH MY GOD, THANK YOU, LOVE YOU!" Kurt shouted, hugging his dad and running up the stairs, probably to call Blaine or Quinn.
Now, he didn't like to admit it,
But Burt has a bit of a soft spot for this Blaine kid. For many reasons.
The first being everything that had gone down with Tina. No kid should have to go through that at an age as young as Blaine's.
Another was his whole family situation. He knew it was a mess, and he knew Blaine would need a group to fall back on, and the glee club wasn't going to be there forever.
And finally, but definitely, most importantly, he made Kurt happy. When Kurt told his dad that he was dating Blaine, he hadn't thought he'd seen him smile that big since his mom was still around. He could tell when the kid was lonely, and when all of his smiles were fake. He could tell when he'd had an argument, or gotten a bad grade on a test.
But only he could. Because Kurt had gotten really good at hiding behind a fake smile.
He was popular, he did it every day.
But if Kurt was happy it made Burt happy, and that's all that really mattered in the Hummel household
Luckily, Burt's brother Sean was one of the best lawyers in Ohio. Sure, the brothers took very different paths in life, clear by their occupations, but it didn't mean they belittled each other at all. They both took pride in their own work. So far, Sean had thrown 81 criminals In jail, one of the best records in Ohio. With a lawyer like that, it was going to be easy to get Tina thrown in Jail.
Upstairs, Kurt was Skyping Blaine to tell him the good news.
"Hey babe, what did you wanna talk about?"
"Umm, a lot, actually. Now, it will really help you and us in the long term, but I just need your help and permission so that I can do this.
"Kurt, what are you getting at here exactly?"
" I wanna take your case to court. Just to help."
"Look, Kurt that sounds, uh, uh-amazing, really, but like, how?"
"Oh, my uncle is one of the best lawyers around here, he could easily help us."
"But what about the resources, the time, the money?"
"I've also got that covered."
Blaine stayed silent.
"B, what's wrong?"
Blaine sighed at these words.
Everything. He thought.
"What if the evidence doesn't hold up? What if she's just released on a warning, carrying on making our lives a living hell."
"I know you're scared, but we are gonna be fine. I've seen the evidence some people use and win with in court, and ours is even more solid than theirs. Just trust me, she's getting locked up."
"Ummm okay. Fine yeah, yeah let's do it.
"REALLY?
"Yeah, really really."
With a quick love you, Kurt hangs up, probably off to speak to Quinn about the whole ordeal.
Honestly, Blaine wasn't sure if he could go through with the whole court process. Because he knew that as soon as his lawyer would start digging for evidence, he would find out everything about his past.
His bullying. His alcoholic, abusive father who drove his mother to near insanity due to his torturing. His brother who abandoned him before he could come out.
And as soon as all that news was out, that would immediately be wanted to be sorted out by Kurt. But Blaine wouldn't be able to cope with only Kurt by his side.
It took Blaine a while to snap out of his thoughts, but once he did he realised that he had somehow wandered into his music room. Because he lived alone (his Mom still paid the landlord through her bank account, but she was at rehab most of the time), Blaine decided to do the only thing that really ever made himself calm down, like he was in his own fantasy.
He sang and played.
How can I just let you walk away
Just let you leave without a trace?
When I stand here taking every breath with you, ooh ooh
You're the only one who really knew me at all
How can you just walk away from me
When all I can do is watch you leave?
'Cause we've shared the laughter and the pain
And even shared the tears
You're the only one who really knew me at all
So take a look at me now
Well there's just an empty space
And there's nothing left here to remind me
Just the memory of your face
Ooh, take a look at me now
Well there's just an empty space
And you coming back to me is against the odds
And that's what I've got to face
I wish I could just make you turn around
Turn around and see me cry
There's so much I need to say to you
So many reasons why
You're the only one who really knew me at all
So take a look at me now
Well there's just an empty space
And there's nothing left here to remind me
Just the memory of your face
Now Take a look at me now
'Cause that's just an empty space
But to wait for you is all I can do
And that's what I've got to face
Take a good look at me now
'Cause I'll still be standing here
And you coming back to me is against all odds
It's the chance I've got to take
Take a look at me now
He felt screaming. Shouting. Crying. But all he could do was whisper 'I'm fine' and hope the pain would just fade away.
