The day Kurt had been dreading. Monday. He dragged himself out of bed as his alarm played his favourite broadway classic, Defying gravity. Usually on a bad day, the song would lift his mood. Not today. Not even his perfect skin routine could get him out of his blue state of mind.

"Hey dad." Kurt said unenthusiastically, as he grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl on the table.

"Hey bud, ready for your big first impression?" Burt replied smiling.

"I guess. Oh my Gaga, Quinn's gonna kill me! Gotta go, Love you Dad!" Kurt said, rushing out the house as he did so. " See ya kid!" Burt grinned to himself.

Kurt really didn't have to leave. He just wanted to avoid talking about the Dalton exchange students. Usually he would wait for Finn, but he was not in the mood today. So, he dragged his feet along to his car and drove to school.

As soon as he got there, he spotted Santana and Quinn in the back corner of the library. He walked over to them, and flopped into the chair next to Quinn. " What's up with you, Hummel?" Santana asked whilst paying more attention to her nails than to Kurt.

"These exchange students. Who knows what they could do! They could make us seem so mediocre and no one in this school will respect us anymore! Also - " As Kurt went to carry on his rant, a loud hush came from the librarian. Quinn signed for them to follow her.

They were soon sat in the choir room, with Kurt carrying on his rant about the exchange students and how fancy their names were, and how they were probably all as straight as ruler. The bell soon went off, signaling for students to move to their first lesson.

Kurt then realized that he hadn't even checked if Finn had made it to school okay. He was probably just snogging Rachel in a broom closet, so there was no point in texting him anyway. Just as he was about to make his way to French, he felt Santana's hand grab his coat. " Don't think you are escaping Kurt. Remember, we have to go meet the thick- skulled Dalton students in Figgins office." Kurt audibly groaned then stomped all the way to Principal Figgins office.

They were being called in one at a time, and according to the list, Kurt was last. He watched all the students meet each other, as well as Rachel's partner roll his eyes as soon as she started talking.

Whilst he was waiting, Kurt gave himself a pep talk.

"Go on Kurt, you can do this. Just remember, rule number one of the Pretty Popluars: Don't fall for a guy just cause he is kinda cute and make sure he is (or in Santana and Quinn's case, not) gay. You need to get to know him and his habits.

As Kurt walked in to the office, Aqua-marine blue eyes met Autumn leaf golds and greens. The guy's smile made a light so bright, it looked as though an angel had appeared. And let's just say,

It was really hard for Kurt to follow Rule number one based on Blaine's appearance in that moment of time.
