We returned to the farmhouse to see if Rick and Shane were back but they weren't. We told the rest of the group that Randall was a walker although he was never bitten.
Out of the blue thousands of walkers started to emerge from the forest trees Lori noticed Carl was missing and started to panic while the rest of us started to create a plan to lead the walkers away from the farm in cars.
"We need to get everyone away from here, we can't fend off a herd that size" Daryl stated
"This is my farm" Hershel stated stubbornly "I'll die here"
Walkers were surrounding the barn when suddenly it burst into flames. Daryl knowing the fire was created by Rick asked Jimmy to rescue Rick in Dales RV.
Rick and Carl jumped on the roof of the RV as walkers surrounded the vehicle.
Hershel stood on the porch of the farmhouse shooting at walkers that got to close while Lori continued to worry about Carl. Carol eventually convinced Lori to leave and she tried to get Hershel to come along as well. I stood on the porch with Hershel desperately trying to kill as many walkers as possible to help Hershel while trying to convince him to leave.
Suddenly Rick arrived and managed to get Hershel to agree to leave the farm. Rick and Hershel ran to an abandoned SUV as Daryl rose up beside me on his motorcycle.
"Get on" Daryl shouted over the noise at me and I climbed on the back of the motorcycle holding on for dear life
We rode for hours down the highway until the sun started to rise signalling dawn. Half way down the highway we noticed other vehicles on the road as we got closer we realised the people standing on the road were Rick, Carl and Hershel.
We stopped and silently we waited for the others to find us.
"We have to go back for mum" Carl stated but Rick ignored him "why are we running?" Carl shouted as Rick continued to stare at the road
"You're doing the right thing, you've got to get you boy to safety" Hershel stated "I'll stay here and wait for the others"
"No" Rick finally spoke "we stick together"
As Rick was about to give up and find another safe place Daryl heard the rumbling sound of car engines in the distance
"Wait" he said "can you hear that?" He asked as we all listened
The other vehicles all drive down the road, the caravan and the other cars Carl beamed with happiness knowing his mother would be on there and ran into the road waving his arms in the air to air them to stop
The other vehicles slowed down and came to a stop as Lori rushed out to hug Carl and Maggie and Beth hugged there dad together.
I looked around the group everyone was here except Andrea, Shane, Jimmy and Patricia.
"I've got some sad news to report" Rick stated giving a sympathetic glance to Beth "Jimmy and Shane didn't make it"
Beth nodded "Patricia didn't make it either" she stated burying her head into Hershel's chest
"Where's Andrea?" I asked
"She could still be alive" Carol said "she was shooting walkers when I last saw her"
"We have to go and find her" I stated
"We can't Ruby" Rick said "there's no way we'll find her, we need to keep moving"
We carried on down the highway until Hershel's SUV ran out of gas.
"We'll camp by the road tonight" Rick stated as everyone got out of the vehicles "we all need rest so we can find a safe place tomorrow"
"We need to keep moving" Glenn disagreed "it's not safe out in the open"
"We found each other against all odds, were not splitting up again" Rick told him "there's a place where we can build a new life we just have to find it"
"Rick, we need to talk to you about something" Daryl explained looking at me
"Randall, we found him last night" I started "he was a walker"
"But when we checked him, there were no bites, he died of a broken neck" Daryl finished
"We're all infected" Rick stated "Jenner told me at the CDC whatever it is, we all carry it"
"How could you keep something like that from us?" Glenn yelled furious with Rick's secret
"I'm sorry" Rick muttered walking away from the group with Lori following close behind
The rest of us sat around a campfire
"We can't have a leader who keeps vital information from us" Carol states as more members of the group nodded "you should lead us Daryl" she added
Daryl shook his head "Rick has honour" he insists "he's kept us safe this long y'all should respect that" he grumbled
Rick and Lori rejoined the group and sat apart from each other. A noise in the distance caused Carol to urge Rick to investigate which caused Rick to snap.
"I never asked to be out in charge!" Rick yelled "I killed my best friend for you people" he stated as we stared in shock at him, Carl started to crying and buried his head in Lori's shoulder "maybe you are better off without me, leave if y'all want I say there's a place for us but maybe it's another pipes dream" he stated looking around at the group "no takers?" He asks "if you're staying this isn't a democracy anymore"
