“What all should I pack?” I ask Ashton. We ended up at the pool, floating on the doughnuts, as Ashton called them. The sun was beating down on me as I laid facing the sky, eyes closed. Even after almost a whole bottle of sunscreen, I could tell I was going to be burnt.

“Well clothes, pictures, I don’t know. We can worry about that stuff later, right now, relax.” He pulls his hand from the water and hovers over my head, causing the cold drop to slide down my face. With my eyes still closed I flicked him off, “Hey now there are little kids around.” He laughed intertwining his fingers with mine. We got out after about 15 more minutes and looked for Toni and Calum.

“Get out of my sun!” Toni said as Ashton stood in front of her.

“I hope you have sunscreen on, cause um, Alli already looks like like a lobster.” He laughed.

“Uh! No I don’t,” I move the strap on my shoulder to reveal a semi nice tan line. “It won’t stay long, but ha.” I stick my tongue out at him causing him to smile and shake his head.

“Do you guys wanna go get some food? I,” He pats his stomach, “am hungry for some Chinese.”

“You’re always hungry for Chinese.” Calum says sitting up.

“Well i don't have an endless supply like you.” He jokes earning a middle finger from Calum. “Hey I was kidding. But really, lets go get food.” He pouts.

“I want to swim a little more and then I'll be okay with going.” I say walking back to the pool.

“Fine, bumnana.” He giggles a the joking insult. I swim for about ten minutes and return to Toni and Calum gathering their stuff, and Ashton laying on the chair with a magazine over his face.

“Hey, come one Mr. Starving.” I move the magazine as he smiles up at me.

“About time! Go get changed.” He hands me my bag.

“Woe bossy cool it.” I giggle walking to the changing room. I dry my hair as best  I can and pull it off to a side braid, change my clothes and walk out to the car. We ended up at the China Buffet on the other side of town, because its the only good one.

“That was amazing.” Ashton says pushing his third plate away.

“My mom makes better.” Calum mocks, making a joke about himself.

“Oh, by the way, mom said that she put some boxes in the garage for us.” I say as Toni and I walk to the buffet for dessert.

“Good. One of my boxes fell apart when we were backing my car. It was so stressful.” She scooped some watermelon and kiwi on her plate.

“I’m ready to get the packing done, it’ll be one less thing to worry about.” I grab some kiwi and cheesecake.

“Have you talked to Chris since he left?” She asks.

“He texted me while we were at the pool asking where we were. I think he might have been at the house. But it’s kinda, I don’t know, it’s weird him being back. He was gone for three years and the last half of that he didn't even contact us. Something just doesn’t feel right, like, I don’t know, I’m probably overthinking this.” I say as we head back to the table.

“No, I feel kinda the same way, I just thought I was the only one.” She says before we sit down.

We finish eating and head back to the house, Niam and Jackie had gone out and Chris was there.

“He munchkin.” He says from the living room when we walk in.  “You guys have fun swimming?” He asked  as we all sat on the couch.

“Alli will probably be sunburnt.” Toni laughed.
