Classes return to normal today, which means English with Uncle Mic, Math and Science with Cementoss, Classical Japanese and Literature with Midnight and a conjoined lecture with 1B and both of our homeroom teachers all before lunch. I haven't felt this mentally exhausted since my breakdown not long after I arrived at UA.
Katsuki grabs my hand as we are dismissed for lunch and presses his lips to mine. I guess the 1B students aren't used to seeing us together because they all share in letting their jaws drop to the floor.
"I can't believe Y/N would date a guy like Bakugo," I hear Kendo whisper to Ibara and Awase.
"She is a great light and with great light comes a great shadow." Ibara talks in riddles per the norm.
"That doesn't make any sense." I can hear the eye roll in Kendo's voice.
Once we are in the cafeteria, Katsuki grabs a tray for the both of us. He's already figured out what I tend to eat and doesn't ask me anything as he loads the tray with sushi and a bowl of rice for me, and a pork cutlet bowl and a separate bowl of rice for himself. Near the end of the line he swoops up two cans of soda, a bottle of barley tea and an apple juice.
We walk over to our usual table, where he pulls out my seat and scoots his chair closer to mine.
"My brain feels like mush," I whine as I shove a whole piece of a caterpillar roll into my mouth.
"Having two weeks off with minimal homework was the best, but now that everything is back to normal it feels like I'm gonna be up until two a.m. trying to finish everything for tomorrow," Kirishima sighs. It looks like he went for the tempura, miso soup and udon for his lunch today. In the amount of time I've been here, I don't think I've ever seen him eat the same thing twice— outside of breakfast that is.
Kaminari slams his forehead against the table, narrowly missing his bowl of sukiyaki. "Classical Japanese is going to kick my ass this semester."
Jiro sets her tray down next to him. "And that's different from last semester how?"
"Shut up," he mumbles into the table.
"I'll help you with your homework if you want," she offers, popping the top off her canned coffee.
That seems to perk him up a bit.
Bakugo leans over, his mouth close to my ear. "When classes let out for the day let's go to your room." There's a tantalizing lilt to his voice.
I nod and he kisses my cheek.
"You guys are so cute it's gross," Jiro scoffs. "Some of us are trying to eat."
For once Katsuki doesn't have a smart ass remark. He moves his hand under the table and begins massaging the inside of my thigh. I jump ever so slightly at the contact which spurs him to move his hand a little higher.
I mindlessly eat my food and try not to squeak at the sensation coursing through my entire body. The hairs on my arms stand at attention. My legs begin to quiver. My face feels hot and my heart is working over time. Knots tie and untie inside my stomach. Flowers are growing from my lungs, making it hard to breathe. The butterflies trapped in my rib cage are desperately trying to break out but completely and utterly failing.
The first bell rings and rudely jerks me back to reality. I focus on catching my breath and regaining my composure but the satisfied smirk on Bakugo's face makes the task even harder.
