Evie
After the party yesterday I was left confused and a little bit frightened. One minute Harrison was on me and tells me he knows everything and the next he is all over me. Cole wasn't happy about yesterdays games but neither was I. Cole had started it by going in there with Taylor. You should have seen how smug she was.
My skin was crawling at the idea of them together but when it was my turn to get my own back with Harrison it was different. It didn't feel like a game, it felt all too real. I wanted to speak to Harrison at school yesterday but he left in such a hurry I could not catch him. Harrison hadn't come to school today, but I needed to speak with him immediately, I needed to know what he knew and how he found out.
I saw Cole in the hallway and immediately paced towards him trying not to show the urgency of my situation. I tapped him lightly on the shoulder, he turned around and the smile he wore on his face dropped as though he wasn't happy to see me. I was confused, he was the one who started all of this I merely responded to his childish antics. I didn't have time for this today I just needed to find out where Harrison was.
"Where's Harrison?" I asked my voice whispering so no one else could hear. Her barked out a rude laugh.
"What so you can continue what you started yesterday?" He narrowed his eyes at me as he smirked. I could feel my heart racing under my cotton t-shirt. He wasn't in the mood for being sweet today. I grunted rolling my eyes at his childish answer.
"You started it." I spoke my voice raising slightly in frustration. How can someone openly womanise yet be so nonchalant about it. Cole growled under his breath, his brutish anger began to rise to the surface again. He narrowed into me, backing me into the lockers behind me. A small streak of fear ran through me. Boys like this don't like to be messed with Evie. My inner voice warned me yet again. I gasped feeling ultimately overwhelmed, my eyes involuntarily closed as I flinched expecting him to hit me or something. I was surprised to feel his weight shift off me and his presence leave me. I opened my eyes and Cole stood a couple of meters away from me obviously ashamed of his animalistic public display of distaste.
"His at home." Cole's voice was merely above a whisper as he spoke. He closed his locker door and walked away briskly avoiding all questionable looks he received from bystanders. I finally breathed out feeling a strong sense of relief, at this very moment I did not care what Cole thought or worse yet what he might do, I needed to get to Harrison.
Luckily for me I remembered where he lived from yesterdays party. I strutted off through the hallways looking as calm as possible, some people tried to offer me solace by saying 'Cole has always had a temper.' But I didn't care, not anymore I had bigger fish to fry then worrying about Cole. I got into my car and began to drive, retracing the roads Cole took yesterday to the party. I weaved in and out of side roads going up the hills through the gated communities. I lurked by the gates until someone opened it to let the florists in, I took the opportunity and revved my engine just making the entrance.
I was in awe of the houses, the winding driveways, the big pillars and perfectly cut grass. The houses imitated hotels. I eventually got the bottom of the street where Harrison's parents house was. There was no cars in the drive, just Harrison's black Range Rover. I knocked on the door urgently. The pattering of my knocks echoed through the quite street. I hoped no one would become suspicious of me.
Harrison eventually opened the door, I stood in front of him. His eyes were glazed, showing no emotion. He looked tired. I felt like a crazy lady showing up at his house without an invitation.
I stood in front of him under the large porch which was held up by two mighty pillars. The rain fell harder making it hard to hear my own thoughts. My eyes wondered behind Harrison's tall build, the halls were dark and cold looking, so was Harrison. He nodded at my request for us to speak and he moved to the side, allowing me to come in. The house resembled the lonely castle in one of those films. The grandeur of the building was overwhelming.
