The peaceful silence engulfed the growling of my engine, I took my keys out of the ignition and admired the tranquil haze of the forest. I glanced at Evie who was also doing the same thing; I opened my door and stepped outside feeling the clean air on my face. Evie followed me and got out of the car, I watched as she took a deep breath in and held it for a few second before releasing it. We were both glad to be here, together.

The cabin we picked stood alone, single from the other ones which looped together in a circle. In the middle there was a fire pit and benches and towards the back of the land was the lake. It stood independently, secluded but welcoming. The water glistened under the sun as the wind created soft fading waves, small tides which washed in and out. I snapped out of my trance to see Evie already half way to the cabin.

I quickly heading to the car picking up the shopping bags of food and followed her in to the cabin. The interior was modern and clean. The basic essentials for the weekend, a kitchen, a bathroom, a study and four bedrooms. I placed the bags in the kitchen and wondered around exploring the space. I quickly found the biggest room and claimed it for me and Evie.

"Evie!"

I called her name, beckoning her into the room. A few seconds past before I heard her feet pattering on the wooden floor as she ran towards the sound of my voice. She got to the door and held the frame for support as she awed.

"Woah. Is this ours?"

She asked as though there were other people there to dispute our decision of which room we got. I appreciated that she still felt as though she had to ask for things rather than claiming them. I smiled nodding my head.

"For me and you Ev. I mean if you wanted to share with me of course."

My eyes pleaded for her to say yes, I did not want to make her feel pressured or uncomfortable. Her eyes widened in disbelief that I was even asking that question.

"Of course!"

She spoke with a hint of excitement in her voice. She narrowed towards me pushing me down on the bed. She proceeded to swing one leg over my torso and the other on the opposite side. My breath hitched in my throat unable to think clearly.

She hovered over me pressing her lips to mine. My heart rate increased to a frightening speed as though it would explode. She suddenly lifted off me, leaving me in anticipation and want. I began pouting like a child, Evie caught glimpse of my jaded disappointment and chuckled lightly before saying the three magic words every guy wants to hear.

"To, be, continued."

She left the room, singing as she went into the kitchen. I lay momentary on the bed, unable to move, I never wanted anyone more, not Poppy, not any other girl, not the way I wanted Evie. I stood up regaining my strength, calming myself down and headed outside.

I stood on the porch of the cabin, the trees swayed in the soft breeze. I took a breath in closing my eyes and tilting my head back as if I had just hit a high. But I wasn't, for the first time in a long time I wasn't and I was happy. I couldn't express my gratitude towards Evie for being the catalyst for change.

We worked well together more than I thought we would when I first suggested the relationship. My insides turned to mush whenever I saw her. I was infatuated by her in everyway, her hair, her voice, her smell. Sometimes I'd glance at her, admiring her as she worked or read a book or whatever she'd be doing and I couldn't help but think, that maybe, I might, kind of, sort of love her.

As we were the first ones up here we got to pick our cabin. I highly doubt anyone would join us but it was free rain. This poorly organised trip was going to be one of a kind. The only supervision they provided were in the form of a couple of student reps from the board and two music teachers, who definitely weren't even going to turn up.
