"Should we go home?" Wyatt asked as they laid on the grass.
An hour had passed.
"Yeah we should. School's almost over."
They began to get up, and Tyler's phone kept vibrating but he ignored it.
"You're not gonna get that?"
"Nah. It's just Kali."
Wyatt shook his head, laughing.
They began to walk home, they had run out of things to talk about. Wyatt took out his earphones and placed one of them in his ear.
"Fuck, I forgot mine." Tyler cursed, signaling at Wyatt's.
"Wanna borrow one?"
Tyler shook his head yes, and placed the left earbud in. Wyatt began to play music.
"Holy shit. What song is this?" Tyler asked, bopping his head to the beat.
"Queen. Cool cat."
They began to hum the catchy tune as they walked a few more blocks. As it began to end, Wyatt looked quickly at his phone, deciding what song to impress Tyler with next.
"On My Mind by Brandy right?" Tyler said, as the song progressed.
Wyatt shook his head, "Always On My Mind."
"Fuck it, I was close."
They laughed, humming as Tyler snapped his fingers and tried singing the high notes. Wyatt smiled.
"It's weird, like, I can't ever listen to this shit with anyone. I'm always alone when I listen to this weird shit. That's what Taco calls it. This is cool though."
"Me too." Wyatt grinned, blushing slightly.
They finally got to their block, they passed by Wyatt's house first.
"No one's home yet." Wyatt replied, looking at the empty lot.
"Can I come in?" Tyler took out the earbud, putting his hands in his pockets.
"For what?"
"I can't go home yet or my mom's gonna ask why I'm home so fucking early."
Wyatt nodded, taking out the keys from his pocket, fidgeting as he tried to look for his house key.
"Why you got so many keys for?" Tyler noticed.
Wyatt shrugged, trying the second key, but to no avail.
"Fuck," Wyatt cursed, fidgeting with the next key.
As he tried the third key, they fell, and they both bent down to grab them.
Their hands fell on top of each other, but Tyler quickly removed his hand, standing up as Wyatt's cheeks burned red.
"God damn, we're gonna be here all fucking day." Tyler quickly changed the subject.
Finally, the door opened, and Wyatt walked in, Tyler following behind.
"Where's your room?"
"Upstairs."
Tyler ran up, laughing as Wyatt was caught off guard. For some reason Tyler wanted to so badly discover more. He didn't know what exactly, but he felt like Wyatt wasn't opening up about much.
"Wait! I have to clean it up!" Wyatt yelled as he trailed behind him.
"No one gives a fuck," Tyler opened the first door, but it was the wrong one. It seemed like his parents room. It was all dark, beige painted on the walls with two boring european art frames on the top of the bed, and the other on the right wall. It was huge, a king sized bed. There seemed to be pictures of their family on the brown dressers next to the bed.
