It was lunchtime, and Tyler looked around for Kali.
"Isn't that her over there?" Taco nudged Tyler, signaling at a lunch table in the back.
"Fuck that is. Fuck do I just go over there?"
"Nigga duh! Go! we'll be over here," Rocky laughed, sitting on an empty lunch table.
T began making his way over, Kali was chatting with a group of girls.
"Hey," Tyler lightly tapped on her arm, and everyone's eyes fell on him.
"Hey!" She went in for a hug, Tyler's tall frame towering over her, "I was looking for you."
"Bitch ass teacher let us out late. Fuck that nigga."
"I feel it. You wanna grab some chips?" he smiled.
...
Tyler and Kali sat in an empty table, apart from their friends.
"I'm so annoyed we got Mr. Simmons for english. He gives out a shit load of homework." Kali opened her bag of chips, T did the same.
"Fuck I know! Heard our final has a secret six page essay."
"No way."
"Nah i'm fucking with you. It's some shit he'd probably do though," T laughed.
They talked about eachother's classes, the teachers they wish they had gotten, and friends. Time passed by so fast they didn't even realize the bell had rung.
"Kali, c'mon!" Bella yelled from the other table, waving her hand.
"I guess i'll see you later," Tyler stated.
"Actually, can I walk you home?" Kali asked, grinning.
Tyler was taken a back, "Uh...yeah? Fuck you wanna walk me home for?" He laughed, confused.
"No reason. I live near you, so might as well,"
Kali stood up and picked up her stuff.
"Yeah, sure."
"We have english last period so i'll see you then, okay?" Kali smiled, T did too.
"Kali!" Bella yelled again.
"I'm coming, damn!" she bent over, giving T a peck on the cheek, "Bye."
T sat there, completely in awe. He could feel his face burn up.
"Nigga, come on!" Taco and Lionel shouted as the cafetería began to clear.
"Holy shit," he whispered to himself, picking up his stuff.
"Did y'all see that shit? She's fucking in love with me nigga. What the fuck." Tyler laughed.
"Bruh, it's hella obvious." Jasper said.
"She asked if she could walk me home today."
"Nigga you lying!" Taco pushed him, laughing.
They talked about what they had conversed about, they were all eating it up.
"That's crazy. So you not skating home with us?" Jasper asked, as they got closer to their classes.
"No stupid. I'll meet up with y'all afterwards though."
"Bet!"
...
Tyler made his way into art class, sighing as he sat in his seat.
"Wassup y'all," Tyler greeted some kids as they walked in, everyone taking a seat as the late bell rang.
"Alright everyone! Today we're going to work on some basic elements of art," She dimmed the lights she adjusted some vases in the front of the class.
"In your sketchbook, go ahead and try your best to draw these three different vases, shading each as precisely as you possibly can."
Everyone pulled out their sketchbooks, and Tyler did also, while pulling out his earphones.
"We doing this all period?" He asked.
"Yup! you can listen to your music as well...Tyler, I can see you're already on that."
Everyone giggled.
Tyler noticed that the boy wasn't in his row, and wondered where he could've gone, since he was in the bathrooms this morning.
Then, the door opened, without surprise it was him.
"Sorry i'm late. I had to help a teacher..." He pulled out the note that he had in his jean pockets.
"Oh, journalism! Ms. Hendricks?" She read the note.
"Yeah."
"That's fine, have a seat. Tyler, do you mind explaining to Wyatt what we're doing?"
Tyler took out his earbud, nodding.
"It's fine, I got it." Wyatt cut him off, taking out his sketchbook and earphones.
"You sure?" T asked again.
The boy nodded, as he began to quickly sketch out the vases that were laid out in the front of the room. T watched at how fast his hands moved, catching every detail as he looked up and down at his notebook with each stroke.
He caught himself staring and went back to his own work, biting his bottom lip.
