Tyler woke up in a cold sweat.
His heart was racing, and his breath was short.

"Fuck," he cursed, falling back into the bed. It was 9 am, and he'd woken up from a bad dream.

"Man," He got up, walking to the bathroom as his alarm went off just then. Turning it off, he ran a hot shower.

He dreamt about dying, again. Something he'd always silently feared ever since he was a child. He pushed it to the back of his head.

Once he was ready, he changed, brushed his teeth, did everything he did every morning. He thought about Wyatt as their favorite song began to play on his phone. God, how he wished they could've been something more. Tyler didn't think about anyone as much as he had been thinking about Wyatt. It was like, finally, he knew what he wanted. What he'd been missing. But he couldn't get to it. Not soon, anyway.

He wondered if Wyatt thought about him like he did.

...

Tyler got to school, his hands in his pockets. He was late again. He didn't care.

Plus, he'd been a lot quieter since he stopped talking to Wyatt, everything had been such a huge blur. Nothing really mattered at this point. Could summer get here any faster? Fuck.

Class was boring as fuck, he didn't finish his homework but it was easy enough to copy the stoner next to him.

"Thanks man," Tyler smiled, giving him back the paper.

"Nah man, thank James. Copied that shit before class," the stoner kid said. You could literally smell the weed off of him.

First period, check.

Soon, second was over, then third, fourth. Lunch was boring. Fifth came, then they were in sixth.

As they sat in their seats, the loud speaker began. Apparently they had a special school wide assembly about graduation and shit for the seniors.

"Fuck, we really got an assembly? Like right now?" Taco put the snacks he stole from the student snack store back into his bag.

Everyone got up from their seats, sighing. They made their way to the bleachers in the gym.

"Nigga we should've dipped during lunch," Rocky said, annoyed.

"Deadass. At least we got to bring our bags though. We could dip after," Jasper replied.

Tyler and his crew were the last to walk in, it was pretty packed. He wondered where Wyatt was.

They got up to the middle, and Tyler looked around, but he wasn't anywhere in sight. He saw Amanda sitting on the other side with her friends, but no sign of him. Weird.

The principal began to talk about their cap and gowns, and everything they needed in order to graduate, blah blah blah. Tyler was over it.

"Y'all think if we dip right now they'll notice?" Tyler asked, laughing.

"Duh stupid. We gotta get across the principal to leave," Taco redacted.

"Fuck this shit," Tyler cursed to himself.

Soon, the speech was over, and they made their way out. Tyler adjusted his backpack as he made his way out with the guys.
