"Oh please Bree," Sara flung her arms out in the air. "Do not even f*ck around with me!"
"Really?!" Bree retorted. "Do you think I would joke around about something like this?"
"Let me see," Sara pushed open the door to find a very down-trodden Bree sitting hopelessly against the bathroom wall. Bree held up the pregnancy stick and Sara saw her lip quiver as she looked away from her.
"Oh my gosh, Bree..." Sara closed the door behind her and went over to Bree. Sitting down beside her, Sara took Bree's hand and lay her head on her shoulder. By now, Bree's eyes were filled with tears and Sara could feel her tears dropping down into her hand.
"Bree," she whispered gently, rubbing her hand comfortingly. "It's gonna' be okay, it'll be okay Bree."
"I've really messed up!" Bree tried to laugh out through her tears and Sara chuckled quietly.
"I mean, on a scale of one to ten," Sara began.
"Fifty billion?" Bree laughed again.
Sara nodded and held Bree's head up to face her. She brushed away some of the loose hairs off the front of her face and shot her a smile. "You've got me, okay?" Bree nodded at her sheepishly. "I'm always here, right?"
When Bree didn't answer, Sara patted her stomach and this got Bree's attention. "I'm gonna' be an aunt, huh?" Sara looked ahead in front of her as though she was in deep thought.
"Yeah, I guess."
"Bree..." Sara began. "Bree, you're not gonna' like, I mean, you know like..."
"I dunno' Sara. I... I need to talk to mum." Sara nodded and sighed.
"Yeah." Sara looked away, a slight feeling of empty sadness overcoming her.
As the girls sat helplessly on the bathroom floor, they heard a voice call out from the corridor. "Sara? SARA? Jasper's here!"
A look of panic and worry flashed over Bree's face as Sara lay a reassuring hand on hers. She put her hand upto her mouth and Bree held her breath.
"Urm, coming Clara!" Sara yelled back in the most relaxed voice she could possibly muster up.
"What the hell do I do?" Bree exclaimed as they rushed out of the toilet and she held up the pregnancy stick. Sara's gaze flew left and right before she spotted the toilet cabinet out of the corner of her eye.
"Cabinet!" Sara pointed at it.
"What?"
"The cabinet in the toilet - shove it in there for now!"
"Okay, okay!"
Sara rushed around the room, shoving the bag from the pharmacy into a nearby drawer as the door opened and Jasper walked in. "Are you decent?" he called out, covering his eyes with his hand.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm good!" Sara ran upto him and pulled him into a hug as Bree came out of the toilet.
"So, Jasper," Bree began, giving Sara a relaxed look. "How come you're here?"
Jasper gave her a sceptical look and shrugged: "Am I not allowed to come here? I mean, she lives her right?"
Sara cleared her throat and raised her eyebrows at Jasper. "She?"
"Oh give over! C'mon, we're gonna' be late for school!" Jasper tugged at Sara's arm. "You coming Bree?"
"But you're not supposed to go in, remember?" Bree directed her voice at Sara.
