Tyler kicked the football agressively up into the air and then chased after it across the muddy field. The rain was pouring down, making his hair stick to his face as he ran around the dark, green grass.
"Yo Tyler!" a voice called out to him from the dark. Tyler squinted his eyes under the floodlights and then recognised the familiar figure of Adam outlined against the rows and rows of empty spectator seats. The empty stadium had a sort of eerie but safe feeling to it.
"Adam man!" Tyler ran over to him and greeted him as the bumped fists. "What the hell are you doing here bro?"
"I gotta' talk to you man! I've screwed sh*t up!"
"Bro - you always screw sh*t up!" Tyler laughed in an attempt to calm Adam down. Even though it was dark where they were standing, Tyler could make out beads of sweat across Adam's forehead. "Erm, yeah sure man. Let's talk right?"
Adam nodded and they both made their way over to one of the sheltered corners of the field. Wiping the mud from his hands onto his trousers, Tyler turned to face Adam. "So what's up?"
"Well," Adam began hesitantly. "Y'know that time when I got hell from that guy 'cos I was screwing his sister? Remember? My face?"
"Yeah man, you looked like sh*t!"
"Yeah, I know!" Adam laughed. "Anyway, y'know the girl - well, we hooked up a few times. You can't blame me right? She's hot man!"
"Yeah dude - but she's like nine years old or something!"
"Bro," Adam stated in a matter-of-fact voice. "She's not nine! And that didn't stop you from making out with her - see?"
"Look man, are we really talking about my s*x life? 'Cos I really can't remember how many girls I've made out with!"
"Yeah, yeah - anyway, that's not the point."
"Okay, so you sh*gged her! Sh*t happens, she'll get hell from her bro, she cries, you help her out, MOVE ON!"
"Trust me man, if I could, I would!"
"Look, unless you've knocked her up and she's preggo', then you can pack up your sh*t and move the f*ck on! She's way too young for ya' anyway!" Tyler laughed as he hit Adam's back lightly.
When Adam didn't respond, a worried look rented out Tyler's face. "Bro," he began in a low growl. "You didn't...?"
Adam said nothing, all he did was nod. "Oh for f*cks sake man!" Tyler yelled out as he got up from his seat. "What the f*ck is wrong with you man? Why the hell didn't you use bloody protection? That's like the first f*cking rule of anything!"
"Really?" Adam huffed sarcastically. "You think I don't know that now?"
"Oh f*ck me!" Tyler kicked out at a rubbish bin. "You're really in the sh*t now dude. You've screwed up your life! Is she even keeping it?"
"I'M NOT GONNA' KILL MY F*CKING BABY IF THAT'S WHAT YOU MEAN!" Adam lashed out at Tyler.
"Okay, okay... I shouldn't have said that. I'm sorry man!" Tyler held his hands up guiltily.
"Whatever man, just don't go all soft on me now yeah?"
Tyler nodded and they both sat back down. "Do her folks even know?"
"She said she was tellin' her mum tonight... I don't think her dad's around."
"Alright well, you're not gonna' like marry her and sh*t right?"
"No! Are you f*cking nuts? I'm not ready for that!"
"Really?" Tyler huffed sarcastically and Adam glared at him. "So you're gonna' be a papa?"
