Chapter Fifty.

ROTIMI'S POV

Today I have a video shoot for my song "Nobody". 50 Cent and T.I. are recording some of their parts right now. Everything is going great so far.

The director is giving us a break so I sit down with Gavin at one of the empty tables on the side. While we're talking, I see my manager Jason walking in with Jackson.

"What's up y'all?" Jason says.

Gavin and I dap him up.

"It's good to see you again Jackson." I say.

"Good seeing you too." He responds.

"Video almost done?" Jason asks.

"Yeah.. just gotta reshoot maybe 2 more scenes just to have some options then we'll be done." I say.

"Okay cool. Well I'm going to go introduce Jackson to some people and we'll be right back."

After Jason and Jackson walk away, Gavin taps me on the shoulder.

"Have I met that guy before? He looks familiar." Gavin says.

"I'm not sure. I don't think so though."

"His name and face is too familiar to me... oh well, if I have seen him, I'll figure it out eventually."

I shrug my shoulders. Before I can say anything, Gavin's phone dings. He reads the text and and stands up almost immediately.

"I'll be right back, I have to make a call." Gavin says.

"Okay cool... do your thing."

"About 10 more minutes and then we'll get back to filming!" The director yelled out to everyone.

I stand up to stretch my legs. As soon as I get to my feet my phone rings. It's Alonso.

"What's up Alonso."

"I'm outside your building. Come meet me."

"Well... hello to you too." I say after hanging up the phone.

I walk outside and see Alonso standing by the door. He was wearing a suit. I'm wondering why but I'm not even going to ask.

"How'd you know where I was?" I ask.

"I put a tracker on your car." Alonso says in a casual tone.

He's said it as if putting trackers on people cars was just another day at the office.... well, I guess for him, it is.

"You did what?!"

"Relax. I didn't do it to spy. After you and Zara started getting serious, she asked me to keep an eye out on you. Think of me as your unofficial bodyguard." He chuckles.

I shake my head and laugh.

"Well, not that I'm not excited to see you but what are you doing here?" I ask.

"As you know, Zara's birthday is coming up. I wanted to know if you could help me with her surprise party."

I deep sigh and take a moment to collect my thoughts.

"Mannn you had me thinking something bad happened!"

"Why would you think that?" He asks.

I look at him like he's crazy.

"What do you mean why?! You used a tracker to follow me... called me out to the side of the building to talk to you while you're dressed like top flight security..."

Alonso laughs at me but I was being so serious.

"I guess you're right. But will you help me?"

"Yeah.. yeah. Of course I will. Just let me know the details later..."

I shake my head and laugh. As I walk back into the building, Alonso walks away to his car.

"Where were you?" Gavin asks.

"Oh, Alonso stopped by. Did they start shooting more scenes?"

"Yeah, but they said that you should be good. They only need to reshoot a couple things with T.I." Gavin replies.

"Oh okay cool."

Gavin's phone rings.

"You got the hotline today, huh?" I laugh.

Gavin laughs as he looks at his phone.

"It's Rosa, she's FaceTiming me."

"Hey babe...sorry I missed your call. I was napping. What you doing?" Rosa says.

"I'm still at the shoot with Ro.."

Gavin turns the camera to me.

"Hey Rosa." I wave.

"Hi Ro!" She says.

He turns the phone back to him.

"Well I was calling because I wanted to ask you something. Remember on our last date.. we saw this guy in the same restaurant we were in.. you said his name was Jackson right?" Gavin asks.

"Oh yeah, I remember, why?" She asks.

"There's this guy here who looks just like him and his name is Jackson. I just wanted to make sure I'm not crazy because he looks so familiar..."

"Is he there now? Show him to me." Rosa says.

Gavin spots Jackson and turns the camera to him.

"Oh yep. That's him."

"See I told you I had seen him before...." Gavin says to me.

I roll my eyes.

"Why is he there?" Rosa asks.

"He's Ro's new assistant."

"Oh."

"Right.. but look baby, that's all I wanted to know. I'll come by and see you after everything with the video is done."

"Okay that's cool with me. See you later." Rosa says.

I can hear Rosa blowing Gavin a kiss. He blows her a kiss back but he tried to do it without me seeing. I waited until he hung up the phone to say anything.

"Why were you trying so hard to prove that Jackson was the same guy you saw when you were with Rosa?" I laugh.

"Because of what Rosa told me about him."

"What did she say?" I ask.

"Jackson used to work with Zara..." Gavin says.

"Yeah I know."

"....but did you know that before you came along, he was trying to date her?"
