Chapter Forty-Seven.

ZARA'S POV

We're in Rotimi's car. He's flying down the highway while Ariel looks at her tracker, telling him where to go.

"I understand we need to figure out where Mac is going but shouldn't we call my dad or Ace or somebody for backup." I suggest.

"She has a point..." Ariel says.

My mouth almost dropped. I never thought I'd see the day when Ariel would agree with me.

"Wherever he's going, we're not going to go inside, we're just going to scope out the place." Rotimi says.

Ariel and I look up at him like he's crazy.

"Will you two relax... we're going to scope it out from inside the car." Rotimi adds.

I really don't care what Rotimi says, I'm texting my dad where we're going just in case.

"Where do I go?" He asks.

"Make a right..." Ariel replies.

I look up at Ariel and she looks scared. She looks like she's scared but is trying to hide it.

"Ariel... are you.. okay?" I ask.

"Uh... yeah... just had a bad cramp."

I feel like she's lying but at same time, why would she lie about something like that? Mac's tracker finally stops moving. Rotimi pulls up to an abandoned building and parks on the street next to it. We see some guys pulling Mac from a van.

"They're brave... doing this is broad daylight." I say.

"They must have cleaned him up. He doesn't look as beat up as he did when I found him." Ariel says.

Before they get inside of the building, Mac stops walking. He must have said something crazy because the guys that were holding him, punched him in the face. One then pulled out a gun and pushed the barrel of the gun up against his back.

"Oh no..." Ariel says.

Mac calms down again and walks into the building.

"We have to get a closer look." Ariel says.

Before waiting for me or Rotimi, Ariel hops out of the car and begins to rush over to the building, looking around every couple of seconds to make sure no one was watching her.

"What the fuck is she doing??" Rotimi ask.

Rotimi and I hurry out of the car and follow behind Ariel. We follow her behind the building. There's a few windows on the side we're on. We look inside and see Mac being guided down the hall. After that we couldn't see where the men were taking him. Rotimi gently but firmly grabs Ariel's shoulder.

"What the hell was that?! You're pregnant! You can't be running around a place like this while you're pregnant. It's dangerous."

"Rotimi is right. You could've gotten yourself and the baby killed." I add.

Ariel looks at both of us and she looks as if she's going to cry.

"Why on earth would you risk your life like that?! Huh?!" Rotimi says.

"I had to make sure Mac was okay." She says.

"Mac's my boy and all and I love him like a brother but you weren't as close to him as I was. Why do you care so much?" Rotimi asks.

Ariel takes a deep breath.

"....because he's the father of my child."

Rotimi and I can't believe what we just heard from Ariel's mouth. We both look at her like two deer caught in headlights.
