Aztec Curse

Nina, Elena's co-worker came to notify her that Rebekah had just arrived and was asking for her. She washed her hands and got to the shop area to greet her.

She saw that she wasn't by herself. She did see Charly at the party, but they were not introduced.

Elena sat down with them recommending them her latest creations.

"I really like it here. It's like you entered into  Hansel and Gretel's special cookie house. "

"Thanks"Elena said happily. 

As they got served, Elijah walked in.

She wasn't expecting him.

Rebekah turned and greeted her brother, smiling happy that he could make it.

She looked at Elena and Elijah exchanging a small non verbal gaze. There was a spark, she coild swear. She knew that she had to tread carefully as if any of them would feel that they were pushed they would back away. It all had to be done in a very sublte way. Charly also noticed that Elijah's demeanour was different. He wasn't relaxed as usual.

He also complimented her on the shop.

Charly then asked Elena if she made birthday cakes, who answered that she did, especially for friends and family.

"If there is s particular design you like just drae it or come by and we can work on it" Elena suggested.

"Great." Charly was happy.

Elena could see that Elijah gave his daughter great freedom.She was very open and straight forward.  Rebekah then asked her about the upcoming Fair. Elena then talked about it a bit.

Elijah was eating mostly the chocolate ones then when he tried the new one with chilli he was surprised how good it tasted, although he felt a good fire explode in his mouth.

"Aztec fire" Elena said. "Too much chilli?!" The brunette guessed from the expression of his face when the spice kicked in.

"Maybe-for my taste- but it blends well," Elijah replied, "one definitely is more than enough, otherwise it would turn into an aztec curse"

"I want to take some for Miss Arnold.She loves everything mexican -me too, but dad doesn't" Charly said and Elena went to prepare a special batch for them to take.

"I am glad you came" Rebekah said." I know this is so out of comfort zone."

"Why does everyone assume that I would not want to do something out of the ordinary?!" Elijah looked at his sister and then at his daughter.

"Because-you like never do anything that is not out of your routine " Charly then said.

"I said, when we were in England, that I wanted change"Elijah reminded his daughter.

"You did." The girl confirmed.

"And so far you are doing really great, dad!"

"What made you want to change things?" Rebekah asked.

"I can't say-you just wake up one day and you realize that life is passing you by-Charly grew up so quickly."

It was in actual fact something that Miss Arnold said to Charly. Time is what we want most,but what we use worst'.That stuck in his mind. He thought of his life, all that went on. That he was going to be forty years old. He thought of Finn and his early death, as well as Celeste, and that all just passes by so quickly. He had this younger brother that he rarely ever spent time with, even when he came to visit them for a few weeks in summer. And so he made the decision to move, enticing Klaus as well.
