Breakdown

Esther was nervous the whole weekend as she rolled over in her mind whether finally tell Klaus who his real father was. She dialled a number of her best friend from youth.

"Hello-  I- can we meet?"

The woman on the other line agreed.

In the hospital, Damon now reacted to the newsflash.

"You don't waste time, do you?!"

"Damon"-Stefan said looking seriously at his brother.

"I will see you, later, Stefan."-Elena took her bag and just walked out of the room.

"What's wrong with you?!"-Stefan shot at Damon.

"She always plays innocent... ah...whatever...I shouldn't waste my breath on her..."

"Aren't you supposed to be on a shoot?"-Stefan enquired.

"Rescheduled."

"How was camping?"-

Damon now showed him the photos he took of Giuseppe.

Elena went to her appointment. When she got done, she looked at her messages.

Elijah had sent her one that he was expecting in the cafeteria. She trodded off to meet him.

"Hey... "-she said as she sat down.

"I had a gap, so..."-he said.

"Nice... oh ...had nothing cuz of that blood-test...what's good here?"

"Only a salad."he said.

"I'll take my chance with these oatmeal cookies"

"Help yourself"-he said, and she took some. They chatted about their schedules and what they would do in the week. It was as if they were together for months.

Caroline met up with Jackson with some of the associates to discuss his current situation. It wasn't good, and then one name came up that clearly had bought most of the shares of the company.

"Mikael Mikaelson!"- Jackson read out loud. He was not surprised.

"That means I am actually just a puppet on the string..."- Jackson said.

"I am sorry... your father left a huge debt... but Mikaelson lawyers want to talk..."

"They want to give me some silly consulting job...No, thank you...I am out of it...It has never my thing anyway..."- Jackson said- " I am an engine constructor...all this stuff...actually I don't really care about...he can have the damned company... I have sufficient money to take care of my family..."- he got out blazing.

Caroline walked after him. Jackson apologized but wanted to be by himself.

Esther walked into the tea rooms where she was lead to the table where her friend was waiting for her.

"Sheila...!"- Esther said.

"Hello..."- Sheila Benett said.

"Thank you for coming..."- Esther said and then the women ordered their lunch.

"I guess I know what this is about...?!"- Sheila said.

"Klaus!"- Esther said.

"So...have you told him?"

"Not yet...huh...I don't know if I should...after so long...I don't see the sense in it... "

"It's been eating you alive all these years...he is so impulsive... I would lose him forever... and he is my.."

"Love child..."- Sheila said.

"I love them all... I wish I could go back in time sometimes and tell my father no..."- Esther remembered the night her father told her what was at stake if she didn't accept the marriage to Mikael.

"The old man lied..."- Sheila said-" but... just look at the good sides...you have Rebekah, who is so successful... and Henrik... Elijah gave you a beautiful grandaughter... Bonnie tells me that she is so smart and clever...Maybe Klaus will understand... love is... something you sometimes can't control..."

"I should have controlled it... I messed Thom's life as well..."

"Esther, you need to stop... it is your decision ultimatively, and I know the repercussions are dire... I will always be here for you..."

"You are the only one who understood me... all my transgressions... I am so glad I have you in my life!"

After the lunch, Esther met up with Klaus. She opted to tell him the truth, as she couldn't keep it to herself anymore. Klaus just walked out on her without saying anything. His mind was empty. Then he wanted to scream and just pick up his things and take the first plane back to Budapest.

Caroline ringing him brought him back to reality. He agreed to meet her. But he couldn't stay with her for long, His mind was racing and the only one that he could talk to was Elijah. Whenever there was trouble, he knew his older brother was the only who could calm him down. 

Elijah asked to meet him, somewhere where they could talk in private. 

"I don't understand why mother came out with this now... not twenty years ago...or..."- Elijah said.

"You don't know the best... Jackson is my half-brother... what is that going to do to Rebekah...Mother is completely mad... they are all mad...I hate them....no wonder father...Mikael always dispised me... "

"Calm down..."- Elijah then said- "let's get a drink..."- he got him to a nearest pub they could find. He knew that it would be a long evening and Elijah notified Miss Arnold what was in the matter and to prepare the guest room as Klaus was going to stay with them when they eventually get home.

The next day, Elijah came to the Mikaelson house first thing in the morning to speak to his mother.

"What possessed you to tell him that- just so- out of the blue....?!"- he sifted through his teeth. Elijah was a gentle soul, but that didn't mean that he couldn't get angry especially when someone was very careless.

"I thought he was ready to know... the timing is never right..."

"I will never understand you..."-Elijah said- "I have sometimes wondered if you don't have bipolar disorder, mother...and I am so sorry to speak to you like that...but I don't find explanation for your behaviour!... I had seen the signs before...you could do amazing work...but then you slip into these depressing states...I want you get examined... please..."

Esther was crying now and he went to embrace her.

Caroline came to Elena's shop and told her about the strange thing that had happened with Klaus and that he hadn't been able to get in touch with him at all. 

"Have you called Rebekah?"- Elena asked.

"She said that something was up...Elijah went to the house this morning and went to speak to his mother... something huge is up..."

Then Elena's phone rang and she excused herself and went to take the call in private. It was her doctor, she wanted to see Elena in person. Caroline had to leave too, so they both left each their way.

In the taxi, Elena felt nervous and wondered what it was.

The doctor met her and went straight to the point.

"There is nothing you need to really worry about, Miss Gilbert... namely, it is good news... you are pregnant!"

"Excuse me...?!"- she said in disbelief.

"Blood results show that you are pregnant. It would be good to make an appointment with your gynecologist..."

"Yes..."- Elena said. 

There were thousands of mixed emotion rushing through her.
