You and Me

Maddening two days

Caroline rushed to the hospital, notifying  Jenna, Bonnie, then Rebekah,Yemaya. Elena was immediately taken to the OR as she was bleeding. 

Rebekah was in a meeting with her father, so she couldn't rush out straight away, but she sent a message to Elijah, who was already in the other OR operating. 

Jenna and Caroline waited all in fear in the waiting area. As the surgeon came out he informed them, actually Jenna, that it was an ectopic pregnancy, which meant that the embryo developed outside the uterus, it had no chance of survival.

"Your niece will be fine... you can see her soon..."- the surgeon said and she left them.

Jenna was relieved that Elena will be all right. It was sad Elena had lost the baby, but they knew that it was dangerous for her, even deadly. Caroline now updated everyone about what exactly happened.

Elijah finished in his OR, and went to his office, to check what his next appoinments were. He put his phone on and the message alert tone went like mad. He looked at the messages and as he saw it, rushed immediately to the Gynecology ward.

At the nurse hub he met with Rebekah that just stepped out of the other elevator. He explained to her that he was in the OR and that he had just seen the messages.They both went to the room. 

Elena was with Jenna and Caroline. She was still woozy from the anesthesia. When she saw him walk in she stretched her arm out for him.

Jenna and the rest left the room to give them a moment of privacy. 

He took her hand and rubbed the back of her hand with his thumb. 

"My dear..."- he uttered- "it's going to be fine... the worst is over..."- He had the nurse tell him what went off already.

"I lost it...her/him..."-she said faintly.

"I know..."- he said softly- "you need to rest... it is important... things will be fine... trust me..."

She nodded and now squeezed his hand. Then she closed her eyes. He sat there for a moment quiet. Then he got up and walked out of them room. He informed the women outside the room to let Elena rest and maybe come back later, but tomorrow would be better. He told them that he will be checking up on her regularily. He eplained to Jenna that she needn't worry. 

Rebekah stayed on and walked back with him to his ward. 

"I know that you are like this wall that can take anything...nearly anything... but this was not easy... and now..."- she said.

"I... just can't talk about any of it..."- he said.

"Please, don't shut down again... I've seen your face... you love her... she will need you now more than ever..."- Rebekah said.

"I am not abandoning Elena, I wouldn't have even if it didn't turn out the way it did... I love her.. and that is not... I am tired...I had little sleep, and I had just finished an operation..."

"Yes...sorry... we are all tired... right...I will see you at the house tonight..."

"Please go and see mother...enough of shutting all of it out... we need to sit down and talk to both our parents... things have to get better... "- he looked at her seriously. And to Rebekah it was like an order, but she understood what he wanted to achieve. He wanted them to improve their relationships. It would not be easy. Nothing ever was with people and relationships, but isolating one another wasn't the answer. 

Later that afternoon, Damon arrived to the hospital, after he followed up on Elena's message and he went to see her. It was painful to hear that there was a baby on the way. She told him all that the surgeon told her after he went to check upon her.
