To New Orleans

The next day, Rebekah managed between a lot of things at work. Trying to get a new PA was a disaster. Then choosing the right editorials for the December issue was also not going as she had planned.

"Right... when thing are right at home...everything at work is collapsing..."- she was not happy and her current PA knew that it was best to stay away from her.

"Vicki..."- Rebekah now shouted- "Get that girl Mercedes... I liked her...she will be all right, I think... why do you have to leave me?!...Did you have to get pregnant now!?.. Sorry... I...uh... I will so miss you...you know everything about everything..."

"I will show her the ropes... I am leaving in three months..."- Vicki said sitting down on the sofa.

Rebekah looked at the girl with happy and sad eyes.

"I know... it's my anxiety...we've been together since the beginning..."- Rebekah said simpatetically.

Rebekah's phone went and it was Caroline. Vicki left her now to talk in private.

"Elena texted me and I thought... let's throw them a surprise thing..."

"We suprised them when we got them together...won't it be like obvious?!"- Rebekah reminded her friend.

"So what... how did Esther take the news?!"

"Mother?!... We haven't told her yet... Elijah and Elena want to do it together..."- Rebekah said.

"I sense something is now right...what's up?"

Rebekah then told her about her PA.

Eventually they agreed that they do the engagement party at the pub where they fused Elena and Elijah together.

Elijah dropped Elena off at her apartment first.

"I will see you tonight... "-he said brushing his fingers through her hair- holding her by the waist and looking freamily into her warm brown eyes.

"I so don't want to get off of this cloud..."-Elena said and now kissed him wrappung up her arms around his neck.

Her phone rang once to the end, then again and again.

"It's them...and they can wait"-Elena whispers inbetween kisses.

"Agree"-Elijah replies.

Then his phone rang and he recognized that it was Charly's incoming call sound.

He got his phone out of his jacket collecting himself a bit and then answered.

"I have practice and I just...here is aunt Rebekah"-Charly said.

Rebekah then took over-

"Listen, I know you just got back- but none of you are answering to messages- I had a hellish day and have to get back to the office- how about we all meet at the pub for drinks around eight?"

That was not an invitation they could decline, so they both said yes to it.

"This is not going to be just drinks"-Elena said.

"I have learned that myself- I need to pass by the hospital...I need to go- but I will see you tonight at the pub!!"-she gave him a peck and aend him on his way.

Then she took her phone and called Caroline.

"Finally!"-Caroline exclaimed-"where are you?"

"in my apartment...Elijah just left...Rebekah said at 8 in the pub- what have you got planned?!"

"Nothing..."

"Caroline!...I know you guys!"-Elena said chirpily.

"Just a small surprise engagement party, which is not a surprise now!"

-Caroline said-"did you know that he was going to propose?!"

"No!...he really surprised me...we were about to get to dinner...and he takes this box out and I said 'yes' before he even asked me and then it blew what if it was earrings - "

"But it wasn't- "Caroline said.

"No, it was a ring- it's so beautiful- white gold and it's a sapphire!"

"Lena,sapphire is for sincerity and faithfulness!"

"I know!!...Can someone really be this happy?!... "

"After what you have been through- you deserve it.And now don't start getting stupid cold feet - I know what you are like- "

"I so love him-"-Elena said"and everything will be fine!"

"There- I knew you will start thinking that something will go wrong- stop it! ... I will see you tonight. "

Elena hung up. She looked at her sapphire engagement ring. She kissed it.

"Always and forever!"- she said remembering his words after he put the ring on her finger.

Rebekah met up with Caroline shortly afterwards in the pub.

"Have you booked everything for New Orleans?!"- Rebekah said.

"Oh, yes... we will have some great fun. They will not know what hit them!"- Caroline said.

"Klaus will be mad!"- Rebekah said.

"Oh...they will be bored out there without us! "-Caroline said.

Klaus met Elijah at home and congratulated him on his engagement.

"Rebekah said it would be Christmas or New Years, but you beat it!"-Klaus teased.

"I wasn't too sure she would say yes"-Elijah said.

"Are you kidding me?! Elena has only got eyes for you! So, I guess, you will be tying the knot at Christmas then?But before that we have a bachelor party to get to- don't unpack- we are going to New Orleans!"

"We haven't set a date yet- she still wants to take it slow. "-Elijah explained.

"Ah- so the engagement is to show that you are serious about her-you are so old-fashioned!"

"I love, Elena."

"Oh, we know! She needs to walk in the room and you just go all dazzled."-Klaus teased him a bit.-"You fell hard for her. But, you still worry, why?This is not luke you?!"

"I am so much older- she may tire of me?!"

"Oh, please- "-Klaus rolled his eyes.

Charly then came to the living room and expressed her happiness about the engagement as well.

Hours later in the pub, there celebration went in the Mikaelson fashion. Loud and very cheerful.

Nothing Esther would approve of.

Rebekah made everyone quiet for a miment as she stood up on the podium in the corner.

"A toast!"-she said-"to Elena and Elijah -may they be happy- always and forever!"

The crowd of friends cheered for the couple.

And two days later, Caroline and Rebekah, two conspirators filled Elena in on the plan about the hen party in New Orleans.

"We will tell her we are going to the beach house!"-Caroline said-"but we will actually be going to the airport.

Klaus did the same with Kol.

They departed in separate flights.

The girls booked a private house- same as the guys did. They were in neighbouring streets.

Rebekah cracked the champagne on the plane.

Klaus did the same in the other plane couple of hours later.
