Hearing the phone ring in my ear, I wondered if he would pick up after it had rang for a third time. Thinking to myself, I thought that maybe I shouldn't have called. After all, it was only an hour and half until his show and I'm sure he was extremely busy. He normally liked to do his meet and greets before his shows because he was so tired afterwards, maybe he was in the middle of that. Just as I was about to hang up, I heard his deep voice come across the phone, a voice I had been longing to hear since he had left my apartment the night before.

Speaking into the phone, I heard him say...."Well, I was wondering when you were going to call."

Smiling, I twisted my hair around with my fingers as I looked out towards the city lights. In a teasing tone, I asked, "So, you were expecting me?"

He laughed and in that deep rasp of his, he said, "Well, let's just say, I knew you would eventually call. So, how do you like New York so far?"

Taking a deep sigh, I realized in this moment that I was truly happy and it was all because of one man. After a few minutes, I said, "Well, we just got here like twenty minutes ago, but I must ask how have you pulled this off?"

Again, he laughed, "After this is all over with I'm going to owe my sister and Ashley big time because without them, I'm not sure I could have. They've been a great help."

Looking back into the room through the curtain that covered the French door, I saw Ashley and the other girls sitting on one of the beds flipping through a book that looked as if it came from the hotel. Wondering what they were doing, I still focused my attention back on Scotty...."You know, you were right in your letter when you said I have the best friends a girl could ask for. I truly am lucky, but that leads me to another point," I paused and then continued...."Where are the letters coming from?"

Hearing him laugh into the phone, I knew he was most likely enjoying this....the fact that he seemed to have all the power and I had no clue of what would happen next. After a few seconds, he said, in a teasing tone...."Aren't we just full of questions tonight?"

I smiled, "Hey, a girl has to know these things."

Again, a few seconds passed and I wondered if he was preoccupied with something else. Was I bothering him? Should I not have called? Did he have something that he needed to do?

Finally, he said, "And, you will know the answers to all of your questions soon enough. I'm really glad you called, you've got me pumped now for my show. I'm sorry to cut this short, but I got to go get ready for this meet and greet. Go and have fun baby, I love you."

Smiling, I simply said, "I love you too."

Hanging up the phone, I sat there by myself for only a few more moments. The cool, crisp air was refreshing and I hoped that Ashley had packed me some warmer clothes because a pink tee and sandals was not going to cut it in this climate. The temperature difference was already much greater and it had just turned dark.

As I listened to the traffic below me, I heard the honking of horns and the screeching of brakes, the bustling of probably one of the most busiest cities in the US. Still, I soaked it all in because I wasn't sure when I would get another opportunity. Deciding to see what the girls were doing, I opened the French doors and found them still flipping through that book on one of the beds.

Hearing me come in, Ashley stood up, "So, how's Scotty?," she asked.

Feeling my cheeks flush, I asked, "How did you know I called him?"

She laughed, "Am I your best friend or am I your best friend, come on Gabs, get real. Okay, anyways, what do you want to eat tonight?," she asked, motioning towards the large book that they had been thumbing through.
