Walking out of my house, I looked from side to side but she was no where to be found. Deciding to check the back yard, I stepped off the steps and made my way towards the back porch. Still, she wasn't there. Where could she have gone? Knowing that she hadn't left, I decided to check the only other place I could think of, my truck. This is where I found her, sitting on my tailgate, legs swaying back and forth in the wind. She was holding her hand to her head and I noticed as she swiped a tear from one of her eyes. Moving closer towards her, all I could think of was that I had hoped I was the one guy that would never make her cry.

Noticing me as I walked up, she quickly sat up straighter and wiped her face with both hands as if not wanting me to see her upset. Sitting down beside her on the tailgate, I pulled her closer to me, rubbing her shoulder up and down, not saying anything, just holding her.

Finally, she said, "I'm so sorry Scotty, I didn't mean to run out of your house like that. It was very rude and I must apologize to your mom."

Kissing the top of her forehead, and rubbing her shoulder once more, I lifted her head with my hand...."Baby, you have nothing to be sorry about. I know that this is going to be a stressful time for you, but I'm praying that you will relax and enjoy it. I promise you my mom will come around, deep down she wants nothing more than to be there for you."

Sniffling, she said, "You just sat there the whole time, you didn't say anything, you didn't tell her about the beach."

Looking away in the distance back towards the house, I held my gaze there for a moment before turning my attention back to her, "I'm sorry that was my mistake. I shouldn't have let you take all the heat for that and I should've spoke up, but I didn't. There is nothing we can do now to change that fact, but you need to know that I'm right here by your side and I'm always going to support you no matter what."

Smiling, her eyes met mine, "Promise?"

Pulling her closer, I whispered in her ear, "With all my heart baby."

After sitting there a few more minutes, we decided that we would make our way back towards the house. I wasn't sure what to expect once we walked back in. Up until now, I had never stood up for myself like I had just a few moments ago with my mom, and I worried that it would cause tension between us. Still, if I had to do it again, I would because Gabi meant that much.

Walking up the steps, I looped my arm with Scotty's, unsure of what was about to happen once we stepped foot back inside his house. A sense of embarrassment swept over me as I thought of the way I had acted. Would Mrs. Judy not want to talk to me? Would she ask me to leave? I didn't know, but still, I knew I had to face this.

Opening the door and walking into the house, my eyes shifted towards the living room. His mom was still sitting on the couch, but now his dad had his hand looped around her waist, pulling her close. As I stood there, I hoped that Scotty and I would always have a love like that, one where cuddling never got old. Shifting my attention from them, I looked around for Ashley and Trent. They were no where to be found, and I assumed that they were hiding somewhere to get away from the drama.

Seeing us walk in, Mrs. Judy pushed against Mr. Mike, lifting herself from the couch and making her way in our direction. Surprising me, she opened her arms and pulled me towards her, rubbing my back as she did.

"I'm so sorry Mrs. Judy," I whispered as she held me close.

Pulling away from me, she put both hands on my shoulders, looking directly into my eyes...."Gabi, sweetheart," she paused, "You have nothing to be sorry about. Listen, why don't you and I go on the back porch? I think we need to talk, girl to girl, woman to woman, what do you say?"
