As we pulled out of the parking lot, I focused my attention on Ashley who was staring out the window. Had she known about this all week and kept it from me? I mean sure, a surprise is a surprise but there are some things that you just have to share with your best friend. Looking around the car, I wondered if Scotty's sister even knew where we were going or if Lauren, Krista, and Kirsten had been filled in. Deciding it was time to pry their brains for information and not liking the feeling of being out of the loop, I spoke up in order to try to get to the bottom of this.

Slipping my phone back in my pocket, I asked Ashley...."Can you at least tell me where we are going? I mean am I the only one that doesn't know?"

She laughed and nudged Ashley, Scotty's sister, with her elbow...."You see, I told you she would react like this. She doesn't like not knowing things."

Feeling as if I was invisible, I piped up..."Ummm hello, I'm right here," I said, waving my hand in front of their faces.

Focusing her attention back towards me, Ashley said, "The only thing I can tell you is that we are on our way to get your mom and Scotty's mom and the only ones who know where we are going is those two and me and Ashley. The other girls do not know anything, so don't even try to get it out of them."

Glancing towards the other girls, I said, "Seriously? I mean, y'all just got into a car willingly without knowing where you are going? Who does that?"

Lauren laughed, "Well apparently you do, because you did the same thing. Ashley called us this morning and told us to pack warm clothes and that we would be gone for the weekend. Thinking a road trip would be nice after midterms, it didn't take much convincing to get us all together. She's right though, we don't know where we are going."

Crossing my arms against my chest, I fell back in the seat and leaned my head against the cushioned headrest. Realizing I wasn't going to get any information out of them, I decided to do what Scotty had said and that was to just relax.

Pulling into Scotty's long driveway minutes later, I looked out the window and saw Mrs. Judy already standing on the porch waiting for us to arrive. She had her sunglasses hanging on a lanyard around her neck, her over-sized handbag looped around her shoulder, and one large carry on bag. If I couldn't get anything out of the girls, I'm sure that I could make her give in.

Making her way to the car, the driver stepped out and opened the door while placing her bags in the trunk with the rest of ours.

Finding a seat to herself, she had one of the biggest smiles on her face which was odd because if I'm being honest, she didn't smile much. I had always thought that she was indeed happy for Scotty, but yet she didn't care for all of the attention that it brought to her family.

As we pulled off, she said...."Oh girls, this is going to be the best trip. I just can't wait, we are going to have so much fun!"

Studying her, I knew she was busting at the seams to talk about the trip and so I asked, "Mrs. Judy, any chance you can fill me in on where we are going?"

She laughed and glanced out the window before looking around at the other girls and then back at me...."Oh sweetheart, Scotty would be so upset if I ruined all of his surprises. Just be patient darling, you'll find out soon enough."

Crossing my arms again, I glared towards all of them and in a teasing tone I said, "You know, y'all are tough to break."

Making a left hand turn, my house wasn't far from Scotty's and as we turned into my driveway, I found myself reminiscing of all the times he had snuck into my bedroom window late at night without anyone knowing of this. I found myself smiling as I thought of how that seemed so long ago, but in reality it had only been a few months. Things sure had changed a lot in the past few months.
