Not being able to look away from the magazine, I managed to ask...."What? Why did this happen? How did this happen? How did they get this picture?," I asked, aware now of why he had been acting so strange and being so quiet.

Running his fingers through his hair, he pulled at the top of his head, before taking a deep sigh and leaning against the back of the seat. Taking his hands, he gripped at the steering wheel, punching it once with his fist. I had never seen him so upset. Not wanting to push him to talk, I sat and waited patiently, not saying anything until he finally spoke...."I don't know, I don't know how any of this happened. I haven't seen any paparazzi around us and as far as I know, we have been discreet. One good thing, they don't know who you are yet, so that's a relief. Gabs, I want you to know I'm truly sorry.

Looking up from the magazine, I felt tears forming in the corner of my eyes although it wasn't a sense of sadness, but instead anger. I knew this was going to happen, I had told him this was going to happen, so why was I upset? Had he just said that he was relieved they didn't know who I was yet? Was he ashamed of me? Did he want to hide me forever? Eventually, people would know, would he be okay with that?

Somehow the press had found out as I read those words again for what seemed like more than the twentieth time...."American Idol winner, Scotty McCreery...ENGAGED! Could it be true?" Plastered on the cover, was a picture of me and Scotty on the beach of all places, someone had been following us on our weekend getaway! We were sitting in the sand, and Scotty had his arm around me, my hand on his cheek. Unable to see my face, you could undoubtedly see the ring on my left hand.

Flipping open the front cover of the magazine, I scrolled down the list until I found the page number that the article appeared. Turning the pages quickly, I saw the same picture that was on the front cover along with several pictures of Scotty from Idol and a couple of Scotty with Lauren, particularly the one where they were at the finale and they snapped a quick shot of her kissing his cheek.

Feeling a sense of frustration, I looked at Scotty once more, wondering why he wasn't saying anything, but knowing that he was allowing me to let it all sink in. Drawing my attention back towards the magazine I read the headline...."It's Clear as Day, McCreery is off the market. Only one question left to be answered, who is she?"

Looking on, I read the rest of the article...."Scotty McCreery, 18, won the number one reality singing competition in 2010, American Idol. A Garner, North Carolina native, he has said before on multiple interviews that he likes to stay to himself and not draw in much attention. So we must ask now, how is he going to react when this whirlwind starts to blow strongly in his direction?

While on Idol, it was obvious that there was sparks between himself and Idol alum, Lauren Alaina who was the runner up for their respected season. Between the weekly country love song duets and the unmistakable chemistry between the two, it was no wonder that America felt led to believe that they could very well be an on screen couple in the making. McCreery himself once told reporters during CMA week that the two would be married in eleven years. So how will Lauren react to the news of McCreery being engaged? Well, that is a story that will have to wait for another day as she was unavailable for comment.

Still, we must question who is this mystery girl on the beach with one of America's most eligible bachelors? Is she a friend of his from back home, or maybe a fan perhaps? Would McCreery get involved with one of his own fans? Rumors are spreading like wildfire as we race to find out exactly who this woman is that stole his heart. In the meantime, we must question is this woman who he writes about in all of his songs? At the end of his touring with Idol, he released a chart topping record off his album Clear as Day titled, I Love You This Big where he belts out romantic lyrics about loving someone deeper than the ocean and higher than the pines. Recently, he is set to release his next song off the album, The Trouble with Girls. Could these songs be about our mystery woman?
