She wasn't sure what she had been expecting from this trip, but it definitely wasn't Safiya's first soulmate meeting. The rest of them were standing in the elevator silently until Zach spoke. "Hey, uh, Erin?"

"Yeah?"

"Did you... I don't know," he paused, "plan that?"

She smiled. "It's none of your concern." The elevator dinged and they all stepped out. She handed him a packet of key cards. "Text me when you guys are set up." She walked down the hall, leaving the rest to follow her.

Erin and Reese had taken one of the bedrooms. Maggie was going to sleep on the couch. Safiya and Sierra were sharing the other bedroom.

Sierra lay down on the bed. "Maggie?"

"Yeah?" The response came from the open closet, but the girl couldn't be seen because she was sitting in the corner of it.

"How long have you known Erin?"

"Since first grade. Why?"

Sierra nodded. "Do you know why she was mad at me?"

"No. I don't know why she would be mad at you. I mean, unless you were her soulmate or something. Maybe if you were someone that she previously had conflict with," Maggie laughed, waving off the ideas.

Sierra quickly shook her head. "No, I'm pretty sure Zach is her soulmate."

She leaned her head out and smirked. "You sure about that? I bet a hundred bucks they are not soulmates."

"If you're willing to bet that much, you obviously know something or are going to make it seem like you're right, so I won't take that bet thank you very much."

A knock sounded at the door. "Hey, guys? We're gonna head down to take a walk," Erin's voice came through, "Would you like to join us?"

"No," Maggie said, "We're going to wait for Safiya to get here, but thanks."

"Okay."

Maggie smiled at Sierra. "We have some stuff to talk about."
