There were only two days now. Two days until she'd be on a trip with a bunch of her peers. Two days until she would be with all her friends. Two days until she'd see Erin. Sierra considered writing "Merry Christmas" on her arm to smooth things over with her soulmate, but she wasn't even sure if her soulmate celebrated Christmas.

She had written Merry Christmas to her for the past couple years, but Ri had always responded with a holly doodle and "Happy holidays!" Now that she thought about it, maybe it was because her soulmate didn't want to be rude and say "uhh... I don't celebrate Christmas?"

Sierra sighed and leaned back, holding her new sushi pillow to her chest. It was late, and the night sky was dark and sparkling with stars. Her brothers and parents were all in their rooms, most of them probably asleep.

She rolled over and closed her eyes. No use stressing now, she thought to herself, although she knew she would get stressed anyway. Sierra started daydreaming, trying to sink into sleep.

When she was almost asleep, she felt a tingle on her arm. She rubbed her eyes and turned on the light to see some smeared ink disappear.
