// chapter five. //
Riley stared at me for about three seconds with a blank expression before answering me, "Sounds like a you problem so I think I'll be on my way." But just as she started to roll up her window Claire came to my rescue.
"Riley!!! We have to help Lucas!!"
Riley jerked her head back at her little sister examining her face. Probably wondering why the hell her sister even cared, I know I was.
"Give me ten minutes and I swear I'll let you leave. Any other day I wouldn't care but my parents aren't home." I said hoping to persuade Riley.
"Why aren't your parents home?" Riley asked raising her eyebrows.
"Ski trip." I said simply and shrugged my shoulders, I was still standing in the rain.
"Fine." Riley snapped as she flung her door open, almost hitting me in the face. Riley walked around her car to get her little sister out. "Alright pretty boy now what." She said once she had Claire out and on her hip.
"Um.. I actually have no idea." I said scratching the back of my head.
"So how am I supposed to help you if you have no idea what you need help with. I'm not going to stand out in this rain and wait for you to figure it out." Riley said as she tapped her foot angrily.
"How tall are you?" I asked suddenly, a plan starting to come to mind.
"I don't know, five eight I think, why?" Riley said, which didn't suprise me I was about six two and she wasn't much shorter than me.
"Alright I've got a plan, but you won't like it. You're going to have to trust me." I said looking at her. Even soaking wet from the rain she was hot.
"Trust you? You've got to be kidding me." Riley scoffed. "Why am I even helping you anyway. I don't need this." Riley turned to leave but was interrupted by her sister.
"But Riley! We have to help him!"
"Fine. What's your plan." Riley said crossing her arms in defeat.
"Okay, so I'm going to lift you to that window right there." I said pointing to the window about ten feet in the air. "And you climb in and go unlock the front door."
"Drop me and I'll make sure you never reproduce." Riley said harshly but walked over nonetheless.
"Okay ready?" I asked as I looked down at her.
"Yeah yeah get on with it. But you better enjoy it because this will be the first and last time you ever get to touch me." She said pulling her wet hair back.
"I wouldn't say that just yet baby." I whispered to her so Claire wouldn't hear as I squatted to pick her up. Surprisingly she was very light and I got her into the window in no time.
I walked back over to Claire while we waited for Riley to open the front door.
"Are you cold?" I asked the little girl as I watched her hug herself in an attempt to warm herself up.
"Yeah. Riley told me I should have worn long sleeves today but I didn't listen." I could barley hear her over the sound of rain falling.
"It's okay, come here." I said extending my arms to her. She came running and hit me with a lot more force than expected. I staggered back a bit and Claire giggled.
"You're so warm!!" She said snuggling into my arms. This is weird, I thought. I was an only child and most the time hated kids. I only like Claire because she is a ticket into Riley's pants I thought. Yeah that makes sense. "I really like you Lucas, you're a lot nicer than the other boys Riley plays with." Claire whispered. Shit this little girl really knew how to f.uck me up.
Suddenly, my front door opened to reveal Riley. "Your house is huge it took me forever to find the front door." She stated holding the door open. I stepped inside with Claire still in my arms.
"Yeah it's a little ridiculous." I said as I lead them into the living room. We were all soaking wet from the rain so I set Claire down and mumbled a quick 'be right back' before going to find towels.
Opening the hallway closet I pull out three towels. Before returning to the living room I grab my phone from my room.
"Hey thanks for helping me out. Here's some towels, and I was thinking maybe I could order a pizza to pay you back." I said, making up my plan on the spot.
Riley takes the towels from me and begins to dry Claire off. "It's really fine. You tutor me everyday at lunch."
"Riley!! I want pizza!" Claire said jumping up and down. I have no idea how this girl had so much energy.
Riley looked up at me apologetically, as she ran the towel over her wet hair. "Don't mind her. We are perfectly fine going home." Riley said but Claire's pout said otherwise.
"So it's settled, I'll order pizza." I said dialing the number I had memorized in eighth grade.
After ordering pizza I turned on the TV and handed Claire the remote telling her to turn it on whatever she wanted to watch. She took a solid five minutes to decide between Disney Jr or Nick Jr.
Riley on the opposite end of the couch. She quietly watched Claire, I could tell she felt uncomfortable. Riley really was beautiful, as much as I hated to admit it. All my past girls of the game were just average. Something about Riley made her extremely attractive, it must be her hot body, I decided.
"Um.. Do you guys want something to drink?" I ask awkwardly, isn't that what you ask people when they come over?
"Uh yeah sure. What do you have?" Riley said looking over to me briefly.
"Probably soda and water." I say as I stand up to go retrieve the drinks from the kitchen.
"Soda! Soda!" Claire says eagerly.
"We'll both have water. Claire knows we don't drink soda." Riley says and her sister lowers her head but nods.
"Don't drink soda? Are you kidding me?" I say, I've never met anyone that doesn't drink soda, I mean I do only really talk to teenage boys but still.
"Yeah, that stuff is so bad for you. Don't you play soccer? You shouldn't drink it either." Riley states.
"Yeah well I do what I want." I say as I walk out of the room. Before I can bring the drinks back to them the doorbell rings. I pay the pizza guy then bring it and the drinks back into the living room.
We all eat rather quickly and before I know it Riley and Claire are standing by the door.
"Um thanks again for helping me." I tell Riley.
"No problem. Thanks for the pizza." Riley says with little to no emotion.
"Yeah thanks for the pizza!! I hope I can see you again!!" Claire says happily.
I respond "Maybe" at the same time Riley says "Don't count on it."
Why does she hate me so much? Whatever.
"Okay well see you at school tomorrow bye." I say closing the door. God, Riley is such a bitch I f.ucking hate Ian for making me have to talk to her.
I don't have time to think about her up tight ass anyway, it's almost seven and I still have f.ucking homework.
