Same Mistakes (sequel to Kidnapped By One Direction)

Chapter 19

A/N- This is the final chapter before the epilogue and I can't believe this series is coming to a close. Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout the writing process and I hope you enjoy the last chapter. (The epilogue will be posted on Thursday)

Ally's POV

"They all admitted everything. They all plead guilty after a bit of pressure they realized there wasn't any use in lying. Court should actually be easy for this case as long as they plead guilty again, the only one we had some problems with was Zayn Malik. He claimed he left because he didn't want to be involved with the other boys but we did get him to admit to being a part of your first kidnapping. We're just seeing how well your stories match up with theirs."

I stay in the room for hours. Telling them everything, I break down and cry a few times until eventually they call for lunch and I'm out of things to say. Lunch is quiet and I finally work up the urge to ask the question on my mind.

"Am I able to see Niall? Just once before the trial?"

"We know you've developed a form of Stockholm syndrome for him but it won't be good for you to talk to him." The detective turns me down and I can't help but try again.

"Please, just five minutes. You can have an officer in the room or multiple if you really believe you'll need that many" I plead.

"Five minutes. We'll bring you outside of his holding cell so you can talk but he won't be able to do anything. The two of us will stand guard and if his conversation goes somewhere it shouldn't we're taking you out of there, alright?" Officer Clark's voice is stern but I'm glad she's allowing me to see him even if there are conditions to it. I stand up eager to leave and Officer Clark leads me out of the interrogation room.

"We've rounded up most of the people involved. That Louis boy told us about your friend Kat and we were able to get in contact with her. She's shaken up that the secret is out and she's going to handle everything back over in the UK. We wanted her to come to trial here but it's tricky with borders and citizenships."

"She wanted to just leave it in the past, I did too but now we know that someone is going to believe us it's different. It's better knowing that they'll go down for what they've done this time. More so, Liam and Harry, Zayn did some stupid stuff but not quite as bad, Louis was never a problem and Niall gave me this. He's getting his freedom taken away to give me mine. That's really why I wanted to see him today." I keep my voice monotone, I can't seem to feel much emotion right now, I've cried it all out.

"I know it seems like he's redeemed himself by doing this but you can't let yourself forget the negative side of him."

"Trust me, I still notice the negatives. He's just given me what I've wanted the last three years and he deserves a thank you for it. His life career depends on him not having things like this happen but now even when he does get out he'll have no life left. He'll be hated by everyone and his life will be in danger for the rest of his life. He's flipped the gameboard and given me the win and him and five other people the loss. Four of his best friends surely won't speak to him again because he's ruined all of their lives too just for mine."

"I can understand where you're coming from when you say it like that. But they did some incredibly wrong things and now they're going to have to deal with the consequences. The judge is going to look at all of their cases individually and hand out sentences that make sense for the crimes they've committed. I can already tell that some are going to be much worse than others." I give a nod not wanting to continue this conversation.

"Down this way" We turn right and I walk closely beside her in the middle of the hallway. There are men yelling everywhere, some ramming against the sides of their cells. I can't help but shudder, Niall and Louis don't deserve to be in a place like this. We walk a bit farther until I see him, I walk right up to the bars of his holding cell and take his hand.
