~ the morning after yesterday ~

as usual, logan woke up first.

the intellect sat up on his dark blue bed, rubbing his eyes for a bit before taking his glasses from the desk next to him. he then got up and slipped on his black slippers before walking out his room.

reaching the stairs, the nice smell of newly-cooked food reached his senses. puzzled, he walked downstairs and proceeded to the dining room. there, he saw patton putting plates on the table. on the table, there were already food. bacon, fried egg, waffles, pancakes, you name it.

logan blinked a couple of times to see if he was still dreaming. "patton...you made breakfast...." he didn't know what were the right words to say.

patton looked at logan with a smile and wrote on the notepad he brought along with him.

'yup! i thought that you guys should be spared from the trouble of ordering food and cooking so early.'

logan nodded at that before taking a seat at the table, seemingly in a trance because of the food. he then took the utensils from the plate in front of him and began to take a portion of the food he wanted.

meanwhile in virgil's room, virgil sat up on his bed with a troubled expression. "goddamnit, i forgot to prepare breakfast. it was my turn today to cook."

the emo then got up and walked out of his room, wearing his lilac and black pajamas. he didn't even bother fixing his hair.
outside his room, virgil noticed patton's slightly ajar room door. curious as to how his room looked like, he went over to the said room and moved open the door to get a better look inside.

looking inside, his eyes widened in shock at the big difference the room now looked from what it was before. in awe, he simply said one word. "cool.."

after so, virgil closed the door and headed to downstairs.

arriving at the dining room, he found logan reading a book entitled 'code talker'. in front of the intellect was an empty but used plate. it seemed like he just finished eating.

"hey logan, you cooked all this?" virgil asked, bewildered at the sight of newly cooked food on the table.

"no. patton did." logan simply said before taking his mug of coffee from the table and taking a sip.

"okay?... where is he anyways? patton, i mean." virgil further asked. logan put down his mug on the table before answering. "he insisted on buying groceries for us. i tried to stop him but he still left."

"oh." virgil simply said before taking a seat at the table and taking the plate of pancakes from the middle. taking a bite from his food using a fork, he felt a strange yet nice sense of comfort and calmness.

-------------------------------------------

some time later, patton arrived at the house carrying four white plastic bags stuffed with various things from the grocery. despite the weight that he had to carry, he seemed rather happy. with his teeth, he held a post-it note with the word 'here' written on it.

logan looked over at patton with a blank expression before putting down his book and getting up from the sofa that he sat on. he then went over to the mute and took two of the bags and brought them to the kitchen to segregate the foods from the others.

virgil, who is now watching anastasia on the tv, looked oved at patton with wide eyes. sure, he was told by logan thay patton left to buy groceries, but he didn't expect patton to buy so much. heck, whose money did he use anyway?

after logan took the plastic bags of food, patton brought the other two bags to virgil. he then handed the emo a box which was wrapped up with a galaxy colored gift wrapper. virgil hesitantly took the present and looked at patton with a confused expression. "thanks?.."

patton smiled and then headed off to upstairs.

virgil looked at the present in his hands and contemplated whether or not to open it. soon deciding to give in to his curiosity, he lazily tore off the wrapper.

to his surprise, it was a book full of jewelry design inspirations. exactly what he needed. he chuckled in delight as he scanned the pages.

virgil never imagined saying this, knowing it has been a while when he did, but it seemed fitting.

to the silence, he whispered quietly.

"thanks.... dad."
